Animester 2B

So apparently my first post got removed by Reddit filter, and I think I know why.

Anyway, I got my Animester 2B last week, and among all the 1/9 Animester figures I have gotten, she feels like the flimsiest one in a way. Firstly, her hand pegs fit very tightly into her hand parts. However, that cannot be said to the peg connecting to her arm as it's not as tight as the parts connecting to the hands. To remove her hand parts, you kind of need to remove the whole hand, with the pegs, and kinda dig in to remove the hand parts. Its not advised to do it normally since your hand may accidentally position itself onto the feather sleeves while tugging it. The funniest thing was that by default, they used the smaller black peg, and put the bigger grey peg in a small plastic. Why not use them in the first place instead?

Secondly, her arm can pop out easily if you twist and turn at certain angles. The arm is connected to the socket by a long peg at the elbow, with the rubber baggy top being used to cover it. To fully ensure its tight, you kind of need to make sure the baggy top and the arm socket are aligned so that the peg fully fits in, while making sure the former is fully pushed all the way to the arm socket. Its a bit irritating when it does pop out, though you can put it back in easily.

Lastly is her Pod 042. Not only it has joints that easily comes out, the support stand for it is one of the worst I have seen for supporting the Pod for any 2B figures. So you basically use a small support platform attached to the support arm, which can be attached to the main support stand. The thing is, you just put the Pod on it. Thats it. Its simple, but its not a firm support for the Pod. Not only that, the support arm is actually quite loose, which can make the Pod fall off easily. You can tighten it, but somehow if you move it a bit, it will loosen up again. The only way is to fully tighten it, though if doing so, you are making it stationary since it will be extremely hard to move it.

Other than that, the main figure for 2B is great. She comes with an additional head where her hair is being blown slightly by the breeze, which looks pretty good (though the base part of her hair has some really funky shading, which may be a slight turn off for some). She comes with 3 faceplates; 2 with the blindfold visor, and one without. The faceplate without the mask is a bit funny at certain angle. I get that its meant to show her neutral expression, but since you can adjust her eyes, she somehow can get a mocking eye expression instead.

A unique thing about her, is that like the Play Arts Kai version (and I think the Bring Arts Kai as well?), she has a removable skirt. In fact, she comes without the skirt on actually. I guess its to showcase her silicone rubber bottom. Funnily, all Animester figures has a small peg joint at the tailbone, and she is no exception. If you peek past her leotard, you can see it, but its pointless to use it since the leotard is blocking it anyway.

Also she is primarily hard plastic; her soft parts are her bottom torso and the section up to her chest (the shoulder parts are all hard plastic), so she's not primarily silicone rubber for most of her body, similar to Karas Samurai in a way. One thing I did not show here is that her swords has separate stands for it (similar to some Nendos having stands for their extra accessories, such as the Medjeds for Nendo Nitocris), though its kinda hard to fit into the main base. I kind of wished it was like the Play Arts Kai one, where you can fit everything onto the same support stand.

Overall a minor step down from the other Animester figures I got, but still quite a good figure I suppose.

Figma Marin Kitagawa!

Got my figma Marin today! Compared to Aru, she felt way better QC wise, since I didn't had any issues with her. Like Aru, she is a fun figure to pose, since she literally feels like she's excluding a lot of hyper energy while posing. She doesn't come with much stuffs sadly, just a hand with a cellphone, a bag and 2 additional faceplates (winking and blushing expressions), though if you did get her PO item, you get one more faceplate to use, which is her happy expression.

The main catch for getting her, if you have figmas that can fit her faceplate, is actually to make her "cosplay" those characters. I did not try with all of my figmas, but from a quick test, so far her faceplates can be used on Yuuka, Kurumi and Holo, though it does not work vice versa since their faceplates are too big for her. While Marin's faceplates does fit on them, its not a tight fit however, so do keep in mind about that.

One thing that caught me off guard was that while she uses the same arm pegs like Hoshino and Bocchi (aka fixed peg with the arm swiveling around it), its actually quite a tight fit, so it doesn't really pop out from the arm peg, which I wished Hoshino and Bocchi did have it. Its not a deal breaker for them, but seeing Marin having a way better one kinda made me wished they had the same quality as well. Lastly, I really love how her hands are designed. They all have manicure, which you don't see so much in figma hands, so its quite unique.

Overall, despite the fact that she barely came with much, she's a fun figma to pose, which kind of help to compensate for that. If you can find a figma that allows her to use her faceplate, its even better as a way for her to "cosplay".

Revoltech Miyu Kasumizawa

So I got the Revoltech Miyu today, and she's... alright I suppose. QC wise, a bit inferior than Saki, mainly because her arms were actually quite tight to move around, thus requiring lubrication. The biggest issue was that her skirt has a paint scuff after some slight posing. Seems like the parts cause the white part of the skirt to come out, which was kinda unfortunate. I will try to fix it though, lets see how it goes.

Other than that, she's actually pretty alright. Her eyes has slightly more colour than how it is in game, so she doesn't really look that sad somehow, though almost all her faceplates are her being sad anyway, with the final faceplate being a happy faceplate. Her Mosin Nagant can swap out the front part to allow her to use the rifle sling, since its attached to the alternate part. While she's quite good posability wise, if you sling the binoculars on her, chances is that you may need to remove her belt packs and her one part on the chest with the rabbit pin if you are putting her arms close together (which will all come out relatively easily).

The main appeal of this figure, is funnily, her gigantic recycle bin that comes with her. You can slot her in fully, though you need to fold her legs fully backwards to do so. Also as her skirt is soft plastic, you have relatively good leg articulations, but not to the extend where you can make her do her sulking pose, since the legs cannot go up too far.

Overall, pretty great, though the paint scuff was not great. Saki did had a bit of this but not to this extend (it was quite minor). Hopefully Miyako and Moe doesn't suffer from this.

Figma Hoshino!

Got my figma Hoshino today! Honestly, starting with Bocchi, figma started to use arm joints which are a bit odd for me in my opinion. Basically the arm peg is firmly in place, which the arm swivels around it (basically imagine the hip joint part used normally, thats how the arm is like now). While at least the chances of breaking the arm joints is much lower now, however its way harder to repair if the arm joint does break, since you can't really replace the broken joint. Furthermore this kind of joint kind of limits articulation for the arm part a bit, since going beyond that pops the arm out.

Anyway, back to Hoshino. She comes with her shotgun, her bag that doubles as her riot shield, and 4 faceplates (sleepy, excitedly happy, neutral or relatively smug, depends on how you view it and lastly her troubled expression), which are great. Articulation is decent, though I wished she had alternative skirt parts like Shiroko (her skirt material is similar to that of Yuuka's, so it can stretch a bit). Her pillow is her preorder item, which is quite big honestly.

One thing not great is her ahoge; its super fragile. Since its right at the top of her head, its quite easily to accidentally tug on it, which is not a good thing. The biggest thing they did to her, which some may not like it, is her hair at the back. Both left and right parts have articulation, however it kind of made the middle a bit empty. So its like she has two twintails at the back in a way (similar to her summer variant), instead of long flowing hair.

Overall, decent figma I would say. I did met with some QC issues such as her smug faceplate being too loose, but nothing too serious that cannot be easily fixed.

Sushing Commando Belka

So I got the third figure in the Sushing Bunny Rapid Action Squad (B.R.A.S) collection, which is commando Belka. Honestly.... I was super disappointed with her accessories. It was exactly the same problem as my Leoni when I got her; her accessories smears her hand a lot. This is the third figure in the series, yet it still has this problem. Furthermore she comes with even more accessories than Leoni (two SMG, one rifle, two combat knife, one pistol with the silencer and two grenades), which makes it even more disappointing that I cannot use any of it. However, by sheer luck, the smearing of accessories on Leoni actually is pretty much gone now, so I can use her accessories and Erena's one if needed, without causing much problems for her hands.

Anyway, if you actually have the other Sushing B.R.A.S girls, you can just use their stuffs on her, using their hands if you want to feel safe when handling the accessories. Furthermore, Leoni's faceplate can be interchangable with Belka's headpiece, so you can put Leoni's smug bratty faceplate on Belka, or Belka's confused faceplate on Leoni, which is quite a nice, though you cannot do the same for Erena. She did some with a slightly loose chest joint, but thats easily fixable. Posability wise, she's pretty great, though she does have some hand parts that can work well with meme poses, assuming you are using the hand parts from the other Sushing girls. To my surprise, the Fliegerhammer model kit from the Strike Witches series fits her quite well, so I will be giving her that while trying to fix her accessories.

Pretty good I would say in overall..... assuming your figure has no paint smearing problem (or heels snapping based on what other people mentioned about the previous figures).

Bocchi's Familiar Dance

Just doing some random dance poses for Bocchi, I think its quite recognizable. Had to do it due to her meme faces. I wished I didn't popped out the head ball joint though, its super easy to come off now with a slight pressure.

Figma Bocchi!

So I got her today, and unfortunately, it's missing a hair piece and her mosaic faceplate. I had submitted a request to GSC, let's see what they will reply with.

She's decent I suppose. Her meme faceplates are really what elevate this figure, as you have so many choices for it. Her skirt is fabric, thus you have quite some leg mobility. You can swap her bottom part of her sweater to allow her to sit down in a sulking like position. Lastly, she comes with a cardboard box for her to hide in. Quite a funny add on I suppose. However, I do have some issues with her:

- Her neckpart feels unremovable; instead you have the remove the ball joint connecting to her chest to remove her head. However, doing so make it feel loose, especially if you make the body rest on the hairpiece. And no, I cannot make her headbang unfortunately.

- Both arm sockets feels unmovable. Instead it's the arm piece that is swirling around the arm socket. I tried to heat it up but it won't budge, so I won't test it further. At most the arm can move about and around, but it can't go at odd angles.

- Due to her neckpart, you have to either put together the guitar strap while putting the guitar on her, or slot it under her (from the waist downwards, as the waist is removable), which feels really weird.

I don't have the Buzzmod of Bocchi, so I can't compare with that version, but it feels like the Buzzmod Bocchi is meant to capture Bocchi during her performances, while the figma is meant to capture her shenanigans.

Figma Frieren!

Got my figma Frieren today! From first inspection, she kinda uses Marcille's body, as she has a similar shoulder cape parts (thank goodness it didn't break this time when I touched it), along with a really long support peg that its mainly used to make her fly. What I did not expect was that she's about the same size as Figuarts Fern, if not a bit taller. Her skirt part is plastic, though its removable as they have a joint peg at the hip. The bent skirt part on the other hand, is just attached to its other counterpart, and its just wrapped around the waist joint, and mainly used for sitting poses, or for posing with the mimic.

Her twintails appear like she's in motion all the time, with pretty decent movement for it. It can rotate around and move about without much issues, though I wished she had twintails that is in resting position. Faceplates are pretty good; you can't go wrong with any of them (especially the  ◅(´⌯⩊⌯`)▻ expression), though I really wished she had that one super smug expression as a faceplate. One thing weird with her was that, unlike Marcille, her faceplate doesn't cover her ears, so you cannot use Marcille's faceplate on her anyway, since it definitely would not fit (and she will have four ears).

Overall, she's pretty good to pose with. Just do note that her Zoltraak effect is quite heavy, and the support stand they provided for it can't really support it well (unless you use them both).
