No Way to turn on Apple Intelligence
Just got a new Macbook Pro & also updated to 26.5.2 from old device's Tahoe 26.2. Noticed live translation option wasn't appearing in messages which led to the discovery that I no longer had a toggle / visible way to turn on Apple Intelligence.
Specs
- MacBook Pro 2026, Apple M5 chip, Model MGDN4LL/A, running macOS Tahoe 26.5.2
Tried
- Checked "System Settings" → "Apple Intelligence & Siri"
- Only a "Siri" toggle present, no separate Apple Intelligence toggle
- "Siri" toggle was initially off
- Turned "Siri" on and completed its setup
- Apple Intelligence toggle still never appeared afterward
- Checked "Screen Time" → "Content & Privacy" for restrictions
- No restrictions found
- Confirmed Apple Account region is correct
- Confirmed Language & Region settings are correct
- Restarted the Mac — toggle still missing
- Already tried Googling + Claude help
