Thoughts on the PL Transfer Market?

I wanted to know what everyone's thoughts are on how the transfer market in PL has evolved and how do you think it'll continue to evolve in the coming years.

What sparked this question is seeing the prices of players from mid table clubs.

Now while I'm happy that mid table clubs in PL no longer can be easily raided by the Big 6, as was the case. I still think a lot of these prices are simply unreasonable and what I think this'll result in is:

- players that sign up for mid table clubs will either include a reasonable release clause in their contract like Dean Huijsen did with Bournemouth (50m) and Cunha did with Wolves (62.5m)

- or they'll run down their contracts and become free agents

- or the worst of all, push for a move to their desired clubs.

To add more context here's current reported prices for a few of the players:

- Elliot Anderson = £105M

- Sandro Tonali = £100M

- Adam Wharton = £100M

- Mateus Fernandes = £85M

- Alex Scott = £80M

- Lewis Hall = £70M

- Van Hecke = £70M

- Iliman Ndiaye = £70M

- Kroupi Jr. = £100M

- Baleba = £100M (From last year, Brighton rejected United's £75M bid because they valued him similarly to Caicedo)

Now a few of these are justified imo like Tonali and Wharton, both have been consistent enough in the league across seasons to warrant a 100m price tag like Rice and Caicedo did, but Forest valuing Anderson and Brighton valuing Baleba at similar prices after one good season is a bit unreasonable imo.

Because look at what happened to Baleba this season, his value has apparently dropped to be in the 50-60m range and still there's no real interest from any clubs this season when last year there was interest from not just United but other big clubs as well.

Again just wanted to have a healthy discussion on this.

Next season will be the First season in the entire 138 year history of English top-division football without a team starting with the letter "W"

No Watford, West Brom, Wimbledon, Wigan Athletic and of course no West Ham and Wolves.

City might actually sue Riquelme

For the unaware there is an election coming up for the Presidency of Real Madrid.

Enrique Riquelme is standing opposite the current RM President Florentino Perez. Both have been making some bold claims (as is the case during an election) and in case of Perez (because he's the current president), he has already signed Mourinho, Konate and Dumfries to help his case. He's also apparently announcing some big signing apart from these players tonight.

Riquelme on the other hand has been repeatedly claiming that if he wins, Haaland will become a Madrid player and also that he'll bring in Klopp as the next manager and not Mourinho.

City has already warned Riquelme that they'll pursue legal measures if he keeps making such unverified claims. And even after that he's still doubling down 💀

City's First Bid for Anderson Rejected by NFFC

In the article it's stated NFFC value Anderson similarly to Rice, Caicedo etc so the price is going to be atleast upwards of £105m.

Marinakis anyhow won't let any of the players leave that easily, it's going to be difficult for any team that bid for NFFC players.
