Anyone ever use a microphone on a remote control gimbal?

There is a project I am preparing for where they want to potentially put a microphone on the inside roof of a car and have it be able to be moved to follow an actor from outside of the car. Of course the concerns are cost, size, and noise that is projected outward the the scene and is transferted to the microphone. We are not sure if this a possible solution. So I wanted to ask this community if anyone has done this.

Has anyone used a mic on a gimbal?
Was it a good solution?
What brand gimbal did you use?

If the answer is no then I am wondering if anyone knows of a product I could test this with. If you have an alternate solution I would be curious too! Thank you!

Edit:

Some more information.

First this is a research project.

The goal is to create a small fischer boom inside of the car essentially.

All actors are going to be micd, they will be inside of the car. The car will have plant mics.

I am not in charge of saying this is a good solution or not. I am in charge of trying it and saying if it works or not and then coming up with other solutions for a mic with perspective as opposed to the omni mics in the car.

Can I rent the equipment necessary for a reality TV pilot?

I have been a production sound mixer for five years. I recently got an inquiry for a reality TV show competition that would have about 11 actors running around a mansion. There were conversations about recording to unit and transmitting at the same time which seems to require Zaxcom. When I tried to see where I could rent this amount of transmitters, receivers and wires, I found nothing. My question then is if there is any way to do a reality type situation with a lot of talent and a lot of chaos without buying an entire kit that matches that? Do I need to buy all the things necessary and make that my focus to actually accomplish this job or is there a way to do this renting? I would otherwise love to hear more about reality TV production sound mixers as that has seemed to me to be some of the most challenging sound situations I can dream of. If there are resources out there to hear more from these people I would be very curious. Thank you all for your help!
