Including 6 State Senate Candidates, 5 House of Delegate Candidates, and 1 Incumbent from the following districts:

State Senate Districts 2,3,9,14,15,17

House of Delegate Districts 7,10,79,90,97,100

"West Virginia needs civic information, and not just something that tells you what to think," said William Polhamus, founder and creator of The West Virginia Clarity Project."I fully intend to do as many interviews as I can, and continue to provide information that helps West Virginians in a meaningful way."

"This project will not stop at interviews, the goal is to teach West Virginian's how we can actually bring change within our state, and how to take care of those who need it the most."

The West Virginia Clarity Project is very excited moving forward in providing more interviews, as we understand that many West Virginians don't even know who the candidates are, or where to find the information.

West Virginia Statewide Petition Against Data Centers, over 2000+ signatures

We didn't want this to just be another petition you sign, so I have talked with Aubrey Hill (the creator of the petition) and Britta Aguirre (a strong advocate and activist for West Virginia) to create plans on what we will do with this petition, and how we can actually create a statewide movement.

Sign the petition here - https://c.org/vyhFNdQRYx

Our plan of action:

1)Submitting comments and signatures to the PSC during public comment periods

2)Deliver directly to state legislators and county commissioners

3)Provide documentation to attorneys pursuing any legal challenges in relation to data centers

4)Press releases and media campaign to demonstrate the scale of opposition - including national outlets

5)County-specific data packets so individuals can advocate in their own communities

6)Peaceful rallies at the state capital including conferences after during the legislative session

7)Ongoing advocacy regardless of what happens with the petition

This is the few plans we have created as a started. We understand the issues with data centers is not short term, and are prepared to fight long-term. It is growing and we will try our best to inform citizens on what they can do to actually stop these from harming our communities.

We also launched a public comment form so you can share your concerns in your own words, which will also be utilized in the same ways:

WHAT COULD CHANGE WEST VIRGINIA? - LOOKING FORWARD

We all pretty much know the issues West Virginia faces. We have been through all parties, yet we still suffer - and nothing gets fixed. We desperately need to think about our plans going forward. The people that already engage in their community already are informed - the biggest struggle is motivating independents, and empowering individuals to learn and get involved in meaningful ways.

I say this in the nicest way possible - if you believe that West Virginia deserves better, you need to be doing all you can to help. Yes, theres nuance to this as you shouldn't feel shame. But if you want to make meaningful changes, you have to start somewhere. Doing nothing is what continues to let corruption win. Until we do something, than nothing will change.

West Virginia does not play nice, civil unrest is happening across the country, with Kentuckys recent elections (Massie) people are pissed. We need to recognize that we need to be taking efforts as often as possible to help. I do have a website where you can start learning - Thewvclarityproject.com

Please, if we continue to waste our lives away feeding the machine, scrolling endlessely through social media, nothing will change

Be the change you want to see in the world.

A MESSAGE TO ALL WEST VIRGINIA INDEPENDENTS/INACTIVE REGISTERED VOTERS

A MESSAGE TO ALL WEST VIRGINIA INDEPENDENTS/Inactive Voters;

We are out here, trying our hardest to deliver the resources you need, and making an investment in West Virginia, for West Virginia.

I see you very clearly and relate to you, as I have never been involved in my community and civics until this year. I understand the struggle and why we dont involve ourselves locally and why we dont vote.. WV is notorious for the lack of state-wide initiatives that are intended to invest in WV, inspire others, and provide you with the resources you need to make an informed vote! And truly is sad to see. Our roots in WV are about community, helping each other and fixing problems that help the working class. For the people that are looking for a reason to get involved, there are so many West Virginias coming together to form strong coalitions amongst other projects. I promise you we care, and we want better for working class West Virginians.

Instead of waiting for something to happen, I started to create meaningful resources specifically for West Virginia, and as an investment into the state and its people. I started collaborating and making calls so we can eventually form a state-wide coalition where everyone truly engages and has a reason to. I feel as the most important part that will get people engaged, is giving them a project to be proud of and contribute to. It starts with you, doing something. Whether it is learning about government, picking up litter, helping your neighbors, started a community garden. It doesnt have to be big, or expend a lot of effort - it can be as simple as understanding your local government, and contributing the knowledge and skill set you do have.

Looking forward:

The Wv Clarity Project is working hard with WV Utility Impact Project and Bloodhound Media to deliver a legitimate resource hub for West Virginians. Reports on the WVUIP Survey, Candidate information, County Breakdowns, civic education content, reporting from Bloodhound Media on important coalitions and efforts happening state wide.

I am also happy to announce that I have been in contact with Brit Aguirre , and we have many collaborations coming over summer. One of the biggest is a podcast within her "Appalachians for Change" efforts. Where we will speak about issues affecting the WV working class, and many topics about how we can approach these to bring a solution that permanently fixes issues from the root. Amongst other several efforts with her that will be released as we build.

We are not going anywhere. We fully intended for this to extend past November elections. You deserve a safe place to be proud of where you can engage and contribute your skills in a meaningful way.

Thank you

What does an ideal WV look like to you?

I imagine West Virginia preserving our culture, land, and coming together to fight rising utilities, and helping our neighbors in the southern part of the state who dont have water. Communities being active, small community farms and small businesses booming if we helped give tourists a reason to come. What about you?

What would make you engage with your community in WV?

West Virginias roots - community, unions, supporting each other in the working class. Unfortunately we have so many issues in WV and a lot of us feel like our actions dont matter. Just looking for discussions.

What are some things that would motivate you to get out and do something for your community?

Do you have any community events that happen?

Do you know your people in your community?

The Wv Clarity Project

Hi everyone. I wanted to formally introduce myself. My name is William Polhamus, and I have teamed with a few people to start a civic based project in West Virginia. I am a native West Virginian and grew up in Slanesville West Virginia. My biggest inspiration for this project was seeing how much negativity and misinformation there was around the civic square - so I wanted to build a useful resource that West Virginia maybe has never had. It started out by interviewing our federal candidates, but has slowly involved into becoming a whole civic platform, or civic infrastructure. Everything here is still very much a work in progress - but I wanted to say hi to everyone, and answer any potential questions! Thank you. thewvclarityproject.com

West Virginia Federal Candidate Interviews.

So I totally didn't think to come to reddit, I was able to interview 15 of our federal candidates in West Virginia. These interviews are long form and ask a lot of important questions. Along with these, I provided summaries, transcripts. I also am in touch with many of the delegates and state senators to do interviews and will be doing a lot.
