Based on how things have gone this preseason I would assume that Ersson has probably taken a step over Leevi at this point as the NHL backup. Provided he clears waivers which id imagine he would based 9n how he did in the mhl last year.

Yak honestly even with all the big league defense injuries seems like somebody they are reluctant to call up and based on how his preseason has gone so far I can see why. Theyve tested him with Klevan and its not been as impressive as hoped.

Seems like the two of them should stay in Belleville for the time being so that's some more firepower this year.

Heard about this in a CFL podcast and finally found the clip they were talking about. If anyone thought Ottawa doesn't have any passionate fans, heres to debunking that.

I mean it half facetiously. Like im sorry but some dingy little half time show and $10 happy hour drinks isnt going to bring people out in this economy.

We need some sort of social experiment with people thats going to be big enough to overshadow the poor team quality. How else do you sell seats anymore after 8 years of being awful?

They need to be bold, maybe not this bold. But they have to think way way way outside the box. Something radically insane that itll get publicity. Mardi Gras at a Ottawa CFL game has.......a interesting legacy. The kind that would get attention for sure. Might be time to whip out old reliable again😂.

The vibes after the home opener have been pretty poor around this team. Despite all the hype about changes, they made the same undisciplined mistakes on all levels of the ball we have seen make year after year.

You would have to feel this game is the one where having had a week off to prepare for a Argos team im sure Coach RD would like to stick it to will mean theyll come out strong. But candidly that argos team is better than us, which heading into this season i dont think most people had that expectation. It would be pretty symbolic to go and lose this one. Maybe not quite as much to the team as it would be to the fans. Can't write off a year after 2 games but it can certainly kill any expectations for it. And if theres no expectations its much harder to motivate yourself to go to games, much less watch them.

If they cant win either game against the elks or argos to start the season, then its looking very bleak for the back to back Al's and Riders games coming up. Maybe the rival fans can fill the stands but I just dont know if a 0-4 start gives people a reason to pay attention especially when the world cup is on. The seating chart already looks pretty empty for tomorrow and I can only dread it getting any worse. You can feel that fanbase needs this win badly, especially if we are bracing for 2 more likely losses coming up.

Im still putting my name on the RedBlacks to win this week but if they cant then i dont think theres another week where i would do that again this season. Please win guys.
