Anyone 6+ years out from stem cell injections for DDD? Still holding up?
I have degenerative disc disease at L4-L5 and L5-S1, and I’m considering stem cell therapy — not just for those two levels, but potentially the whole lumbar spine and the lower half of my cervical spine as well.
Before I commit to something this extensive, I want to hear from people further down the road than I am.
Has anyone had stem cells injected directly into their discs more than 6 years ago? Especially if it was multiple levels, not just a single disc.
I keep reading that these treatments have a shelf life of 3 to 6 years. If that’s true for you, I’d love to know what happened after. Did the pain come back? Did you need a second round? Or is anyone out there still doing well past that window?
