I have recently contacted Mayor Frank Picozzi about flock cameras and the dangers they impose.

I've explained to him that ALPR systems document every vehicle that passes, including license plate numbers, make, model, color, and precise time and location. This data is stored and can be searched retroactively, creating detailed location histories for innocent people who have committed no wrongdoing. The ACLU has warned that "mass surveillance through the use of technology like Flock cameras present a dangerous threat to every resident's privacy and rights to be free from invasive and unjustified government searches". The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) has documented that these systems "enable and amplify racist policing, threaten reproductive rights, and chill constitutionally protected speech". I also mentioned cases of where police have abused it to stalk their ex's online.

Their response was:

"They help solve crimes, That’s all nonsense. We have used it very successfully and they’re here to stay. Don’t break the law and you’ll have no concern. Happy 4th"

The mayor clearly does not care about upholding the constitution. So clearly he's not fit for office.

I live in Rhode Island, and I'm disabled. I cannot work.

I just got a letter saying my snap benefits are going to be decreasing from $298 to $88 due to "Decrease in housing/utility expenses"... But they haven't?

I've been paying the same rent for a year now. I'm disabled completely, only get $903 a month, with having to pay $254 for rent + $10 for cooling, $45 a month for my phone, $50 for my internet (cheapest and the only available for my apartment besides cox, but would cost more).

Because of my disability too, I cant even GO food shopping. I HAVE to use instacart in order to do my grocery shopping.

I tried calling DHS on friday about what's going on, but after waiting an hour and explaining my situation. I just had a guy pick up the phone and go "Okay we'll let's look into your snap benefits" and then put me on hold until the building closed down instead of actually helping me.

Of course I got the letter on a Friday, 2 days before the 10 day appeal window, and they are closed for the weekend and I'll have to wait until Monday, June 1st, to try calling back, WHILE also seeing now if my benefits are actually cut to $88.

I don't know what to do. I'm panicking because I literally can't survive on $88, I barely make ends meet for the month as it is.

I got back in the call 3 hours later, the lady helping me said there's nothing wrong with the information you are posting, idk what their problem is, you're totally fine and checked out I'll fix it now!

So happy end to this situation, Sorry for everyone else still struggling, I hope your issues get fixed as well. And I greatly thank EVERYONE who helped me in this thread ❤️ Thank you so much for all your support ❤️
