Has anyone applied for the US Diversity Visa Program? What's the application process like, etc.?

I’m a New Zealand citizen currently living in NZ and looking at eventually moving to the US for work.

I’m considering doing a NZ Level 4 qualification in Wireless/RF communications alongside an online bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from a US or NZ university.

The goal would be to build experience in radio communications, RF, telecommunications, or public-safety communications, then potentially find an engineering job in the US.

Does this sound like a realistic pathway? Would a US online engineering degree be more useful than getting the degree in NZ or Aus?
