How do I get ahead of reoccurring sepsis infections?
44 f 224 lbs diabetic t2 high BP high cholesterol 100% blockage in femoral artery recently 3 stents put in left side of heart due to 100% blockage 60% and 70% in all the main areas. I recently spent 5 days in the hospital, gastritis, SIRS, and NSTEMI. 4th time in less than 2.5 years I have become septic in my intestines with no known cause. So they believe I have some kind of systemic issue that gets triggered and I become septic. (FML).
This time I was taken by helicopter which would've been frightening except for the fact when I'm septic I lose my mind and have no idea what's going on. I've become septic 12 times in 7 years and heart attack the last 5 times. The sepsis seems to love to attack my heart and brain. They told me I wouldn't survive a bypass or heart cath and I needed a transplant. My cardiologist did 2 heart caths and 3 stents. He also said that yeah if I have these issues any.ore I may need a transplant but not anytime soon.
So now I'm being harassed by everyone in my life trying to "make" me do things I don't want to do bc they all think I'm gonna drop dead. I'm literally wearing a defibrillator vest for the next 30 days. Friday is my 2 week post hospital visit. I need to know how to get ahead of these bouts of sepsis before I die. I'm not sure how much more my body can handle. I have a GI appointment at the end of this month. I haven't really had chest pains or anything. Once in a while some pressure when I walk upstairs less now that it's been a few weeks.
Idk what's causing these infections. I would believe it was the Ozembic but they happened years before that. I'm neurotic about hygiene. I bleach and Lysol everything in my house daily. I don't even shower without bleaching the tub first just to avoid possible infections. I had to stop eating lettuce bc it seems to cause me to get sicker more often which I find stupid. Is there a way to find out what type of systemic issue there is? Ways to find triggers? I did have a contrast MRI a few hours before hospitalized but felt ok aside from some nausea. Would pro and pre biotics be beneficial? I need to know what to ask my doctor aside from the basics.
