There is a Button in front of you that you can press as many times as you want. The Button takes away 1 (One) IQ point from you but gives you $100k in exchange. Do you press the button? How many times if so?

For the sake of this hypothetical, the IQ system is now empirically correct and excellent at measuring overall intelligence.

The button appears in front of you for 30 minutes, then disappears forever. Decide fast.

You are offered $$$ in exchange for drawbacks in life. Which ones, if any, are you choosing? (Choosing multiple is allowed)

  1. You will go bald permanently and you are not allowed to hide your newly bald head. No wigs or anything. Hats are allowed though. – $100k

  2. You are never allowed to have pets again. Visiting pet shelters or pet sitting for friends or just hanging out with random pets belonging to others is restricted to 45 minutes a month. – $100k

  3. All of your current friends, be they life-long or you just met them yesterday, forget about you entirely. Pictures together will be deleted, their memories harmlessly modified, and they will view you as a stranger. Your family will suddenly view you as a life-long shut-in who can not maintain friendships. Old friends you try to reconnect with will be 2.2x as resistant to it as they would normally be. – $1M

  4. You forfeit the right to ever have children. No take backs. Adoption or natural birth or any other way. – $2M

  5. You forfeit the right to ever use gadgets with screens (like your phone or laptop or PC or TV or smart watch etc etc) for recreation. No Reddit, no reels, no memes, no movies. Ever. Work use allowed. Calls are an exception to this. You can use your phone for calls. – $5M

  6. Your non-dominant arm will be painlessly and magically cut off at the elbow. Permanently. There may be some phantom pain and sensation and obviously all other drawbacks that come with this. – $5M

  7. You can no longer speak NOR learn or use sign language. The change is permanent. Want something? Mouth it I guess, or write it down. – $5M

  8. You age 20 years immediately, right this second. The change is permanent and you must also explain it because everyone notices. – $40M

You are offered $400k to undergo one of the following challenges. Which one do you choose and do you accept?

  1. You must go and live on the Norwegian island of Svalbard for 365 days. It is one of the northernmost populated areas on Earth, and a pretty big change for most people reading this post. 100% of your expenses in moving and living here will be paid for. (Within reason, this only includes food and shelter, you can not buy a Bugatti as a living expense). You must think of an excuse for your family.

  2. You must go and spend exactly 207 days on a British nuclear ballistic missile submarine as it patrols, submerged. You will be integrated as an average crew member and you will magically know exactly what to do as your job. You must think of an excuse for your family.

  3. You must go and spend exactly 282 days in The Room. The Room is 150 square feet. It contains a mid-tier PC, an average bed, a water fountain and a toilet with a small shower cabin. Bland and repetitive food will be provided to you three times a day. You will survive while maybe losing a little bit of weight. You can use the PC but contact with the outside world in any way is forbidden. No messages to anyone, no replying to comments on Reddit, no chat roulette. You must think of an excuse for your family.

You can stop Challenges 1 and 3 at any time and be released, just with no money. You can not stop Challenge 2. The submarine is on patrol, and you will be dealt with as a mutineer if you disobey orders.

You are offered $30k a month tax-free to do Quizzes, but there’s a catch. Here’s how it works.

You will work 10 hours a day for 5 days a week.

Every day you come into work and you choose a topic. Any topic. Could be Boeing 787 aircraft design, could be the intricacies of Red Dead Redemption 2, could be the FA Cup final of 1983.

A team of experts instantly gives you 7 hours worth of videos about this chosen topic. Could be lectures, could be playthroughs, could be podcasts.

You get a one hour lunch but you must pay attention.

Because then the team of experts creates a good-faith quiz based on what you just watched. Good-faith meaning it’s not designed to fail you. It’s designed to genuinely test your retention of the material that the videos went over.

You get two hours to write the quiz at the end of the day. So, 7 hours worth of videos, 1 hour lunch when you choose, then a two hour Quiz.

Here’s the catch.

If you get 85%+, you get your $1500 for the day.

If you get below 85%, you OWE the quiz organisers $1500.

If you get below 65%, you OWE the quiz organisers $5000.

And if you get 96.5%+, you get $7500 for the day.

Do you accept? Which topics are you choosing? You must switch topics every 10 days. Once you accept this challenge, you must do it for at least one year continuously.

You will be given $3.3 million tax free if you fulfil one of three tasks a genie sets before you. You choose the task. If you fail, you spend 3 years in federal prison + natural consequences of your position.

Task One: You become Sir Keir Starmer, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Your job is to last 202 more days as Prime Minister, starting today. He is… unpopular, to put it mildly.

Win condition: remain Prime Minister of a United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) on Day 202.

Task Two: You become Vladimir Putin, President of Russia. Your job is to last 202 days more as President of Russia. The war is deeply unpopular and assassination plots are swirling - especially if someone thinks something is weird with Putin…

Win condition: you are alive and President of Russia on Day 202. You must control all internationally recognised Russian territory.

Task Three: You become Marco Rubio, Secretary of State of the United States of America. Your job: survive Trump and don’t get fired or worse for 202 days. We all know how Trump can be…

Win condition: you are still SecState on Day 202. You are not dead.

Upon failing or succeeding, you are transported back to your own body, either to enjoy your money or to federal prison…

Do you take it? Which one do you take?

You are given the power to shape-shift into any person or animal that can physically exist on Earth. There is a catch. Once you shift into a form for the first time, you need to spend 365 days in that form to unlock it for instantaneous use. Do you take it and what do you transform into?

Once 365 days passes, you can shift into it and back within 1 second. Whenever you want.

An eccentric wizard offers you a contract. You will commit to never telling an outright lie ever again in your life, in exchange for money. If you believe a fact to be true and say it and it turns out to be a lie, that still counts a lie.

The eccentric wizard has supernatural means of checking what an outright lie is and there are penalties for saying a lie.

The first lie: warning. The second lie: $10k fee. The third lie: $100k fee. The fourth lie: $500k fee. The fifth lie: $1m fee. The sixth lie: 12 years in federal prison. The seventh lie: 24 years in federal prison. And so on.

Your REWARDS though: $25k in your first year of not telling lies, $75k in your second year, $132k in your third year, $232k in your fourth year, then $505k per year from your fifth year onward. Adjusted for inflation.

If you manage to tell three lies or less in your first five years, the eccentric wizard will also throw in a $5.05m bonus as well as perfect health for the next 17 years.

Do you take the deal?

Some examples: “Elena may like me” - can’t be a lie, she MAY.

“Elena likes me” - a lie if she does not.

“Dinosaurs have never existed” - the eccentric wizard checks this supernaturally and it comes out to be a lie.

“Capitalism is the best system we’ve thought of so far” - the eccentric wizard will check and based on the supernatural results of his check, it will either be a lie or not.

You get it.
