Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but why do doctors, surgeons, dentists etc. perform any procedure without giving an estimate on the cost? How is that ok?

For example, if you take your car in for service, the mechanic with give you a quote/estimate BEFORE any work is done. Why do doctors perform anything without telling you what the total cost would be and what/if medical insurance will cover any of it? I know they can discuss with insurance before hand. I’ve seen them call and talk to insurance before.

So many people end up in crazy debt from surprise bills. This just seems horribly wrong…

I’m trying to setup an OLD Mac (running Linux Mint) for my toddlers to be able to play games, learn typing and basic computer functions. I was recommended Parental Whitelist Control extension to only allow specific sites. Seems to work fine except when trying to go anywhere WITHIN that site. For example: I added HappyClicks. Worked fine. But when I clicked on “Memory games” it blocked it. It was still within the site, but just a section of it. So how do I allow the ENTIRE website? All of HappyClicks, all of PBSkids…not just one VERY specific URL

Should I try a different extension, or am I missing something in the settings?
