3D Scanner for Reverse Engineering Industrial Equipment
As the Title suggests im doing research on behalf of the engineering company i work for.
We speciallise in breakdown repairs and upgrades to existing equipment in a food and beverage environment.
A lot of the time access to our work area is very limit. So a 3D scanner is looking like a valuable addition to our tool kit. sort of hoping we can make just 1 visit to site to get all the data we need to the engineer a solution for the customer.
Im looking for suggestions for a scanner than can handle small to large scans. up to the size of a suv would be common. the ability to scan an entire room would be great. but the accuracy in the circumstance wouldnt be critical.
We can not spray or physically place anything on what we are scanning due to foodsafe issues. so this seems to be limitting our options a fair bit.
Can anyone make any suggestions?
Revopoints Trackit looks like it might fit the purpose. The extra tripod and tracker is a downside though. Intersate travel is common so lugging that around isnt ideal.
