Gryphon, what a fantastic beast, glad I found it.

Having been using a tanchjim Luna dac with the fiio ft1 headphones for the last 6 months, I was craving something more. I was happy with the technicalities of the Luna dac, the clarity and neutrality suited the ft1, and I loved the tonality and range of the ft1 itself. I decided after much research to go for the ifi Gryphon. Wow I'm so glad I did. It has a fairly neutral sound 'colour' so it doesn't muddy the ft1 headphones. The power of the gryphon running the ft1 through the balanced cable really gives an incredible sound experience for a closed back headphone. Bass is well extended, full, and very well controlled with amazing definition between drum kicks and guitar. Mids are well defined and natural sounding, with vocal reproduction being smooth and engaging, like you are there in front of the singer. Highs are very well presented to my ears, cutting through the other sound ranges without ever sounding harsh.

Soundstage and instrument definition just keeps blowing my mind, and I am re-hearing tracks almost like listening to them for the first time ever!

The different tuning boost settings work brilliantly between bass, mid/treble, and both mid/treble and bass settings depending on the music style/band. In addition to this the 3 filter settings make a real difference, my most used being GTO for metal/rock and edm.

Connectivity is great also, although mostly using the usb port to phone connection, the Bluetooth connectivity is also a brilliantly useful feature.

If you are looking for a dac with great connectivity, power to drive headphones and a fairly neutral but engaging sound, the Gryphon may just be what you need. For me, I am currently in audio heaven.

Marauder

This W-winged hulk is a real paradox. Although it's twin boom layout offers enough space for full compliment of storage, plus research facilities and crew relaxation, its sheer turn of speed is phenomenal. Not many ships can match it's athletic prowess. Traders and smugglers alike prize this ship for it's ability to kick dust into the face of anyone wanting to try and intercept it.

Converted from a lumbering civilian cargo hauler, the Marauder's hybrid engine systems harnesses the unstable energy released from time flux to thrust fast and hard.

You want stuff moved, give this crew a shout!

(Disclaimer, yes I know displayed speed doesn't really match real speed, but it's still a fun stat to chase and in game speed variations can make the difference between being shot to bits and being able to hit the dust)

FR9 Prodromos

Developed as a fast attack and recon ship, the FR9 Prodromos is nimble enough to keep out of trouble, while packing a punch if you do find yourself in the thick of it. Fitted with the latest signal jamming and E.M.P technology, it is becoming a formidable ship in the hunt for the swarm.

Designed and built by the biohybrid branch of the Autophage, Atlas technology has been incorporated into the propulsion systems as conceptualised in it's big sister Prometheus ii. This means a power system virtually immune to spikes or failures due to high radiation and electrical interference being found in swarm dominated systems.

Clever packaging has enabled the Prodromos' reactor systems to be housed in a smaller than normal footprint, meaning the ship has achieved a relatively compact profile, ideal for sneak attacks and evading fire.

Prometheus ii, 'star hatch' addition

Following a containment breach that nearly resulted in the loss of a crew member, a much needed adaptation was made to the ship to incorporate an exit/entrance from the upper deck to the outer hull. Known as the 'Star Hatch', it provides a means of escape in emergency situations, but also means spacewalks can be carried out with ease. Also this gives access to the newly fitted payload rack on the upper tail section, reserved for carrying unstable items that can be jettisoned rapidly if needed.
