Looking for recommendations for a specific dynamic

I'm going on holiday next week and I'm looking for recommendations to load up my e-reader. So SF or F with a kind of dynamic where one partner is very talented/smart/competent in some ways and the other has complementary skills.

So like the dynamic in Malka Older's The Investigations of Mossa and Pleiti series, the MCs of Rebecca Thorne's Tomes & Tea series, Susan Morris' Harker & Moriarty books, etc. Romance or romantic undertones are preferred, any flavour of queer, etc.

GP does 'emergency' appts only due to IT upgrade the past 8 weeks - what am I meant to do?

Just having a moan at the state of this. GP surgery has been undergoing an 'IT upgrade' for the past nearly 8 weeks and has been on emergency appointments only.

I've got an issue that isn't an emergency, but I need help. My life isn't in danger, so I'm not going to A&E, I've done everything I can on my own from the info on the NHS page about the condition, but I need a referral to a PT and potentially medication. I can't even get a phone appointment.

When I rang a few days ago to schedule my routine 6 month blood test, the receptionist gave me an earful about how it was 'emergency only' right now, but she'd schedule me anyway as a favour. You can't even ask about these kinds of things when you're actually there, as they've huge signs up all over the place saying the only way to talk to someone is an appointment, which you can only call for.

Has anyone had any luck using a private clinic? I'm really about to lose the plot over this.

(I wish there was a flair for whinging.)
