Do not get angry, this question is to understand Hindu point of view.
Please be respectful and this is just a question out of curiosity and not for offending anyone. Thank you.
So, I'm thinking why is beef banned in India? For those who want to eat, why not let them eat? Like in the west, if someone doesn't want to eat, they won't. As simple as that.
Now one argument that I get is Hinduism is in majority and we're respecting their sentiments:
- Isn't India secular?
- How is someone killing their own cow offends others who do not own it or have any relationship with it?
- Why is it your business anyway if someone is killing their cow for consumption?
- Why can't there be an industry of cows just like other cattle that are raised for meat in India?
- It looks like the religious books talk about beef consumption but people ignore that anyway - that's very odd.
Also someone said that only the cows in India are not supposed to be killed. If that is the case, then why not allow beef imports to India from other countries so that at least that would be the option for people who want to consume?
