Devastated
Somehow this song has flown under the radar for me even though it’s on their official Youtube channel.
Yesterday i had my usual day of work and chilling at home. I had a good day and the weather was nice. I decided to look for some new music and this came on through my auto-play recommendation.
Right at the chorus i started bawling my eyes out. Even though released 15 years ago, the message of this song and the accompanying video is more prevalent then ever.
This world is full of terrible things. It is also full of love and beauty. I guess you cant have good without the bad but that scale seems to have been tipping to the bad side for a while now.
In times of hardship i always find solace in art and so far Salem has been the most important musical discovery of my short life.
Sorry for the long ass text. Just wanted to share my thoughts that awoke in me with this song.
The time that we have here in this planet is short and it’s hard to not feel like it’s gonna end anytime now. So for the time that we are here, let’s laugh, cry, hug our loved ones and dance till the world ends.
