Importance of BFA or other dance related degrees

I’m just curious as to how much parents research their studios and care how many staff members have attended BFA programs or have a dance related degree. Is or should this be important to know when choosing a studio?
Does professional experience (dancing with a professional ballet company, CLI conservatory training, dancing as a Rockette, etc) count as much as a college degree?

Competition fees

Is anyone willing to share what their comp fees were for last season?
We left our old studio and just had a parent meeting with new studio.
We were given a rough estimate on comp fees for the year, and I’m so sick to my stomach to see that our old studio price gouged the heck out of comp entry fees.

Last year I spent:
$100 per group dance for regional comps
$125 for convention comps and Nationals (groups)
$400 for convention workshop fees
For reference, regional conventions had probably 100+ group entries
Conventions had the max allowable entries
I understand that they are allowed to factor in admin fees for all of the behind the scenes work that is done to get entries submitted and send out information and schedules.
But…. Was told at our new studio that average regions comp is $60 and $125-$200 for a solo.

What did you pay last season? I’m curious?
For reference, Midwest area and all comps and conventions were in the Midwest in varying states and cities.
