Dress regret?

Hi brides, I just need to vent because wedding dress shopping has honestly brought up a lot about my impulsive decision-making tendencies.

Last week, my mom was in town, emotions were high, and I said yes to a dress that I knew deep down didn’t fully match my vision. I’ve felt so guilty and stupid about it ever since.

So I decided to keep looking. On Monday, I found a stunning Stella York dress that felt much more like me, but it was around $2,000. Then yesterday I went to an off-the-rack store and found another beautiful dress for $1,300 that addressed one of my concerns about the Stella York dress.

And… I said yes AGAIN. Even though I KNOW I should have gone home and slept on it first.

Now I can’t stop thinking about the Stella York dress. The dress I bought yesterday really is beautiful and I was able to take it home immediately, but I keep replaying the Stella York dress in my head. My main hesitation with it was that the skirt felt a little too poofy, but the stylist said the crinoline could be removed to make it more of a true A-line silhouette.

I genuinely didn’t expect wedding dress shopping to be the most emotionally stressful part of wedding planning. I feel embarrassed that I’ve now made two emotional decisions instead of slowing down and trusting myself.

Pictures for reference:
Dress 1 = original regret dress
Dress 2 = Stella York dress I can’t stop thinking about
Dress 3 = dress I bought yesterday

Would love honest opinions or if anyone else has gone through dress regret/decision paralysis because I feel like I’m spiraling.

UPDATE: Hi all! You all don’t know how much this thread has helped me today 🥹🫶 thank you to everyone who left their honest opinions, descriptions etc. it all helped so much getting outsiders perspectives! I have decided to stop thinking about wedding dresses for a bit and move on to (the many other) wedding planning priorities. But I do think number 3 is my dress and I’m going to ask my seamstress about options for under the skirt. In the comments I posted another angle of dress 3.

That said, If anyone is looking for a satin ballgown dress (dress 1) lmk! I plan to post it on poshmark and perhaps stillwhite down the line. I may also ask my seamstress about possibilities for a reception dress or another wedding event. Truly thank you all so much for your thoughts. I will make sure to send a final update closer to the wedding (10/9)!!
