Does 10K sound right??

Spoke with an attorney yesterday and based off his numbers, he estimated my settlement at $10,386. Using the formula, Body Part Value x Disability Rating Percentage x Compensation Rate = Settlement.

155 weeks x 10% (estimated) x $670 (weekly rate) = $10k.

My attorney said he may be able to fight for more, but told me there is only so much he can do. Maybe I'm just being dramatic but 10k doesn't seem like much considering I broke the Tibia, Fibula, and had a rod installed. Is this just because of how Missouri's work comp laws work?

Is my case worth getting an attorney?

I work construction and had my left leg broken in a trench cave in. Broke both Tibia and Fibula. Had the “inter-medullary nail” procedure. (Titanium rod through Tibia) I’m going on month 3 of healing, and a few weeks into physical therapy. Things seem to be healing and getting stronger, but still not walking normal and have pain with exercise. I have a dr appt in 3 days to determine if I am ready to return to work. Which it sounds like they are going to put me in a “seated role” until I’m fully healed. Everything has been paid for and I have been receiving 60% wages this whole time. I’m assuming there will be some type of settlement at the end of this but not sure what to expect or when. Questions: Should I go ahead and settle or leave the case open to cover future expenses? If that’s a thing. Is it worth it to get an attorney to negotiate a better settlement? Do I need to get a second opinion from on out of network dr? I’ve also been told I can’t sue my company for negligence since I took the workers comp. Is that true? For context I am in Missouri and I’ve heard their laws don’t allow that.

Really don’t what to expect, so if someone has some experience and can explain that would help a ton. Thanks
