Why are all the posts locked?
It seems to periodically happen in this sub, that posts are locked within hours of being opened. Right now it appears all post are locked, and I don't get it?

Why were the sirens, mermaids?
Most mythological creatures in the movie are represented closed to the original archetype. We only see the Sirens in the distance, but it is well known and documented that sirens are half women half birds. So why would Nolan take the decision to represent them as mermaids, half women half fish, and introduce another mythology that has nothing to do with Greek mythology? What would be the reasoning behind that?

Why are the Suarez Mexican?
I just realized, none of the actors playing Suarez family members have links to Mexico (Hondurian, Puerto Rican, Cuban). The original Betty La Fea, on which the show is based, was Colombian. What was the logic to make the family Mexican? Wouldn't, say, Puerto Rican had made more sense given their ancestries and that they are NY based? Although granted, America Ferrera doesn't look very Puerto Rican... But just wondering why that choice.

Domestic (gender) violence went up 120% in Spain after the final
I have seen other posts about this happening in England or Argentina after they lost, and I want to point out how this is a problem everywhere and is not even related to losing.
Spain is also arguably one of the countries that has donde the most to fight this plague, with special legislation on gender-related violence (domestic violence is no longer an accepted term), specialized courts and many other measures to protect women. Absolutely horrific.
The spike is measured by the number of calls and messages received by the emergency call services. The big spike was registered between after the match finished and up to Monday morning.
