[Film] How to interpret Ishida's note?

Hello all,
So I've only watched the film once (recently) and have not read the manga (planning to).

I think I got most of the plot and subtleties (thanks to a very solid fansub).
But one part still confuses me a bit:

>!Near the end of the film, when Ishida is in a coma, Nishimiya dreams about a suicide note written by him.!<

>!"Nishimiya, I found you.!<
>!How are you?!<
>!Somehow... this is a little bit weird (lol).!<
>!I.. feel like dying.!<
>!Ah, tuesday is coming to an end soon.!<
>!See ya, Nishimiya."!<
>!(I know translations vary a little)!<

>!What are we dealing with here?!<
>!Is this a "it came to her in a dream"-type thing?!<
>!Where she subconsciously realizes on her own that Ishida was suicidal too?!<

>!Or is this an actual note that Ishida wrote in her conversation notebook just before handing it back to her the day he tried to end himself ? (because it sure reads like it).!<
>!+ it would explain why on the bridge, he's trying so desperately to prevent Nishimiya from reading it.!<

>!But assuming the note is real, when did Nishimiya become aware of it?!<
>!Learning that your primary school crush (bully or not) was planning on ending himself should be a big deal.!<

Have I missed something in the film? Or does the manga explain this?
Thanks.

How to correctly tonemap Dolby Vision content to 10-bit SDR

Hi all,

For the past few months I've been using Shutter Encoder to convert Dolby Vision 4K BD remuxes to 4K HEVC 10-bit SDR. Mostly because my homecinema isn't DV-compliant.

It looks good but I don't know if I'm doing it right.

Under Colorimetry I have ticked:
Convert colorspace: HDR -> SDR
Colorspace: Rec 709 10 bit
This way the colors look right.

Then under Color Correction, I do:
Whites +60

The result "feels" right, and looks right when compared to official SDR blu-rays and screenshots that I find online.
But I don't know if it's correct...

The "Whites +60" setting is purely arbitrary on my part.
If I don't do it, the whites look grey.

Should I be doing something else to correctly tonemap Dolby Vision content?
Can Shutter Encoder even handle Dolby Vision content?

Thanks for any hints you guys might have.
