What Questions Should I Ask Investment Advisors

I'm 72 years old, have a pension that more than meets my financial needs and we own our own home. We have zero borrowings/debts.

I have a lump sum that I currently have in AIB on 1 year deposit.

I put it in a bank because I was worried what effect Trump would have on investments.

I may be wrong, but it appears that particularly US stocks are behaving contrary to what was expected e.g. they continue to grow.

Are they therefore considered to be in a bubble?

It's clear that I need to invest to at least cover inflation, which I probably should have done in the first place.

I'm going to talk to a number of investment firms and am wondering what are the critical questions that I should ask.

I'm interested in a mix of low and medium risk.

Should I steer clear of US, if it is behaving contrary to expectations.

I'm a newbie at this.
