i’ve had perioral dermatitis for almost 7 months now, i’ve tried all the creams, all the recommendations, i’m on my 7th week of metrogel but every day I get new pustules throughout the day.
I have no idea what else to try. I haven’t done antibiotics yet but I’m a little scared to mess up my gut.
i’ve noticed it gets worse pretty much after anything I eat. I feel like it’s the best when I wake up.

I have been struggling with perioral for about 5 months now. It initially started as one spot under my nose and now is under my mouth, sometimes along my jaw, and under my nose. I get red pustules that seem to appear over night every night.
My doctors prescribed me tacrolimus gel which helped a bit but didn’t clear it fully. I am now on metronidazole and it’s been about 4 weeks but i’m still getting regular new pustules and redness. Maybe I should just keep on this? I just don’t know if it’s actually solving the problem.
I have tried LITERALLY everything on the internet - zero therapy, toothpaste, new hair products, pillowcases, cleaner water on face, zinc, sulphur, etc.
does anyone have any advice ?
