How are we dealing with tanky decks or other 1 prize decks?
It’s me from the Alakazam or Hydrapple discussion. I’ve decided to move off those decks. Zam has some really rough matchups and hasn’t been performing well for me, and Hydrapple tends to brick too often.
So I’m switching over to the Dragapult deck. What Dragapult variant would be the best pick right now? from what I've researched:
But I’m also seeing a lot of , Cleafairys incoming, Ogre Box and N's Zoroark,Grass decks in my local/meta, alongside manny other decks such as Starmie, Mega Greninja, Metagross, Marnie's Grimmsnarl, Cynthia's Garchomp and we are talking they are on ones, not many matchups but very variable.
Any advice on which version fits best into that kind of field would help a lot.
I've been running Alakazam (with mines and hammers for specials) for a while, mainly because there are a few Dragapult players at my locals. One of them runs Moltres and the others don't.
Alakazam is probably the deck I'm most comfortable with, and I've had good results with it. However, attendance at my locals has grown quite a bit recently, so I'm looking for advice on which deck you think is better positioned in the current meta against a wider variety of matchups., for the future.
Right now I regularly see Slowking, Zoroark, Ogre Box, Draganoir, Lucario, Greninja, Beedrill, Starmie and Garchomp. There actually aren't that many Dragapult players at my locals, and I feel like both decks have a decent matchup into Pult anyway. Not many grass players tho, an arboliva.
Hydrapple is more of a "if it works, it works" option for me. I want to noob believe that hand disruption doesn't hurt it as much as it hurts Alakazam, and it can start applying pressure earlier. Also, I grew up playing Crash Bandicoot, so Ogrepon kind of reminds me of that vibe.
Given that meta, which deck would you bring and if possible which one to master for the future? I see the ghost theme deck and mega excadrill are good, so I'm planning on building both.
