Puppy is scared of walking outside because of cars

I have a 20 week old aussie puppy, and he is very scared of cars to the point where he won’t go on a walk and sometimes won’t come out of the door. He is completely fine and relaxed while he is riding in the car to go to a wooded trail or other place and will walk in these places just fine. Is this common behavior for this age and what can I do to help him through this fear so that I can walk him right outside?

Advice/tips for a new puppy

Hey, I’m looking into getting an Australian Shepherd puppy, and it’ll be my first dog other than a family pet. I’m looking for any helpful advice or tips with training, like potty training or if crate training is good. Food and activity advice would also be helpful, I am very active myself so I would more so be worried about over exercising the dog rather than under. Thanks!
