New ship: Da Hu x Shang Chao
I'm surprised this pairing has never been brought up before. These two literally are perfect for eachother
- Da Hu kidnapping Pomelo made Yang Cheng turn into New E-Soul, giving Shang Chao's entrepreneur career a start in the hero industry. So romantic he helped kickstart his boyfriend's career.
- Delinquent x Rich boy Romance
- The angst of Da Hu shooting Shang Chao when he intended to shoot Yang Cheng. Doomed yaoi fr!!! Killing your boyfriend accidentally 💔
- Wealth gap romance, Shang Chao also hides the fact he's dating a poor person from his father Shang De.
This ship has so much potential

Shang Chao and Yang Cheng were not best friends and he was a lot more opportunistic than people realise.
I've seen a lot of comments online that depict Shang Chao as this pure hearted saint, who practically took pity on Yang Cheng and wanted to help him, or that he cared about Yang Cheng in any way before Yang Cheng went viral.
Shang Chao genuinely didn't really care about Yang Cheng before he rescued Pomelo. He didn't come to the police station because of Xia Qing or anything (SC didn't even know she was there or that it was her brother who got kidnapped), he only came there to find Yang Cheng.
He even admits that fact. And then he started talking to Yang Cheng's boss about managing him without even YC knowing? He literally got Rock to convince Yang Cheng to let him manage him. Furthermore, he pushes Yang Cheng to be the New E-Soul when Yang Cheng literally asks if this would land them in legal trouble.
They were definitely not as close as some depict them to be. Hell, Yang Cheng worked with the guy for less than two months (slide 8 showed how long till the E-Soul anniversary had come before new E-Soul started his hero work, and then slide 9 depicts they had 31 days to go in the middle of the jeopardy montage of E-Soul arc) and they sure as hell weren't friends before that fact. They're more like business friends.
Shang Chao was genuinely taking advantage of him and his situation to get himself into the hero industry. We know he wants to start his own agency, he literally pushed Yang Cheng into all of this stuff that eventually got them into legal trouble (and was gonna straight up land YC in jail). Now, Shang Chao wasn't an awful human being or anything of course but I'm tired of some people thinking he was doing charity work or something or had full pure-hearted intentions. This dude genuinely jumped on the opportunity the moment it arose, he did it without a second thought. He did all of this for his own gain and profit (I'm not surprised considering he's Shang De's son).
TLDR; Shang Chao dgaf about Yang Cheng before he went viral and only sought him out for his own benefit.

Luo Character Rewrite (And we make the arc totally better trust)
Credit goes to u/Chikentender_ and u/EmotionalPerformer12 for coming up with the story beats and ideas.
The issue with canon Luo, and the reason why he's so boring is that Haolin ran into a dilemma of wanting to have his cake and eat it too. He made Luo have almost an inhuman amount of selflessness, sacrificing his dream for being a hero and helping Cyan escape, even smiling through the hardship he endured whenever her song came on the radio, yet he falls for the words of the dean immediately, who was already his abuser but also still turned on Cyan even when he heard her come to the orphanage, accusing her of not even thinking of coming back (???) during their confrontation in 37 AC. Yes, fear makes one irrational, but the absolute abrupt transition of him completely switching on Cyan paired with the arc's poor pacing makes his character fall quite flat and forced.
But he has the components to be more interesting, especially with his bad luck. A slight alteration can be made to his character; make him a bit more selfish. The rest of the post is in a story pitch style format.
Luo still lets Cyan know about Queen's speech, he gives her his song and a guitar, his desire to be a hero. He even gives Cyan the idea of escaping, even helping her plan it along with a few of the other orphanage children. The difference? He gets cold feet. Why? He hears how much the children and the orphanage are helped due to Cyan, the dean also supports keeping Luo even when no other orphanage wants him due to his trust. Furthermore, where would they even go once they escape? The orphanage is all they ever knew, and Luo knows people from other places aren't so kind. He can even argue with Cyan over it, asking if all of this is actually worth it but Cyan's resolve is that she's going through with it, especially since a few of the other orphanage children are helping.
This leads to Luo snitching on her to Dean, not wanting to lose his friend, on the day of Cyan's escape the doors are already closed. Luo goes to stand next to the dean, he gets headpatted by the Dean and for the first time in his life praised by an adult for doing something right. Cyan is almost captured by the adults but then the other orphanage children start fighting them, which makes Luo feel extremely guilty. Of course the adults eventually overpower the kids, but like in canon Cyan's luck summons a truck, which then heads straight towards Luo and the dean due to Luo's bad luck, destroying everything in its path and ending with Cyan escaping. This enrages the dean and he blames everything on Luo, stating he caused this and Luo gets hit.
Luo is abused and isolated over the years just like in canon. Luo resents Cyan since he literally got blamed for everything, and hearing she is responsible for his parents' deaths as well breaks him.
During Cyan's concert, when she sings the song ‘My Colour’ she gets a bit teary eyed by the end, because even if Luo betrayed her he was still her first and true friend.
Here he doesn't hear her come back after the concert, Dean doesn't tell him that Cyan came to visit him obviously.
Cyan struggles a lot too while she is homeless, that during her final confrontation along with the other accusations Luo asks her if it was all worth it, if it was worth escaping the orphanage and bringing hardship to not only herself but others as well. Cyan states it was difficult, and it sucked a lot, but she'd go through all that struggle again. The confrontation ends similarly to the show canon, with Luo hearing the recording.
