Some of the choices they made are just maddening.
The entire section with Cait Sith in particular is an exercise in futility. I’ve had more game over screens in this stupid segment than the rest of the game combined. Take one of the worst, most forgettable, throw away characters in the game a force a section where you have to control it’s wonky moogle to throw boxes and fight enemies it’s not suited for fighting and it’s just infuriatingly bad. I forgot just how much I hate this part of the game.
There are other sections as well, broken mechanics, beating your head against a wall frustrating bullshit, that I just can’t help wondering how they made it in to the game. Gongaga in particular has some of the most clunky and tedious nonsense to deal with.
There’s so many awesome aspects of this game, and then you run in to the most frustrating nonsense ever and it sucks the life right out of it.
