Therapist says it right psych says no

Recently I've been struggling a lot more with my mental health, I have trialed multiple drugs and seen no progress and relief of symptoms only side effects over many years. I reached out to my therapist and he said I should consider looking into other treatments such as spravato which I already had some prior interest in.

I reached out to my psychiatrist about possible other treatments including spravato and other treatments. His response was that spravato was not an approved treatment that has proven benefits for my diagnosis (MDD, Anxiety, PTSD) and that IV ketamine is only offered during hospitalization IF insurance would approve it.

He also shot down every other treatment I asked about and had one thing to offer .. IOP which I told him would only make things worse for me, I have done years of CBT and DBT which their program is based on and I don't enjoy group settings even my therapist agrees there's nothing I would get out of half a day of group therapy and being "taught" laundry and doing the dishes can be fun.

I am entirely at a loss here. He just left me at that, basically told me understandable let's schedule a follow up in a month. I can't afford to pay it of pocket but I'm likely losing my insurance at the beginning of the year anyways so all of this feels like it's for nothing if i can't follow through an entire treatment. My therapist said my best option to get treatment now is to go to inpatient which I also can't afford to do. I don't even know what im saying all this for but I guess I don't understand why my therapist and everything I've read says spravato is approved for treatment resistant MDD but my psych says no... Is it just insurance?

They won't take my teeth!!

So I was given a referral to get my top 2 wisdom teeth removed(I only have the two) probably almost a year ago but only had dental insurance and no health insurance and couldn't afford sedation out of pocket so decided to wait till I got insurance. I called the surgical office once I had health insurance and they told me due to my insurance company they have to wait list me and don't have a timeline on it just that there were 70+ people and they don't schedule them just a call when there's an opening.

The issue is one is impacted and causing constant ear pain, headaches, and eye pain when chewing. I explained this, my dentist sent another referral noting it was urgent. Same situation they can't do anything but put me in a waitlist.

Called my insurance to find a different provider and there are none within 50+ miles and everyone out of that range won't take my dental insurance.

I'm frustrated, lost, and in pain. My dentist said there's nothing he can do and due to the impaction he won't remove it. I was considering paying out of pocket at the next closest place which is a dental school 1hr away but they didn't even say if they could do the referral but that they'd need to take X-rays and have a meeting to determine if my case is good for learning.

Rescue red footed tortoise

Hello, I am taking in a rescue tortoise this coming weekend. I have been doing tons and tons of research and taking notes to make sure I am prepared to take him in and plan to spend the rest of the week getting the room I plan to place him set up.

Here's the info I have: he is 5 years old 8inch carapace length 6lbs. He's coming to me with his 75gal tank, bulbs, hide, and bowls.

I am not super experienced with tortoises but right off the bat 75gal sounds incredibly small and I plan to get him set up in a 2 story enclosure asap. I will attach the pictures I have received of him, his shell looks awfully dry to me and possibly pyramiding? I do plan on taking him to a vet just to make sure all my bases are covered on his health.

Now to questions

How does his shell health look? What are the proper steps in taking to care for any issues that anyone notices?

I am aware their moisture needs can be high, what is the best way to manage that in an open enclosure indoors? He will be going in our basement that is climate controlled and finished but we try to keep humidity down in the summer due to issues with mold previously. It's possible by next summer I can have an outdoor enclosure built for summer use as well.

Could it be stressful going from a small enclosure to large and be done incrementally? How can I manage travel stress as well? It's only a 30 mins drive but I want him to be as comfortable as possible.

I was initially set up and planning to take in a 3 toed turtle(big size difference😬) but the owner decided to keep him. I have always had an interest in owning a turtle or tortoise and want to give a rescue the best life possible any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. I am excited to gain another friend!
