How to stop being the good guy at the gym

Hey guys I need some advice, I’ve been training on and off for like a year and a half now. I can spar pretty well with amateur fighters and I can go hard too if I need to.

The issue is I kinda feel like an asshole if I hurt my training partner, and my coach even tells me I’m too nice sometimes. Because of that I end up going too light and then the sparring doesn’t feel realistic.

I’m also one of the bigger/heavier guys at my gym so maybe that’s part of it too.

Anyone more experienced got advice on how to find the balance between actually showing your skills and not feeling bad about it after?
