Trying to decide if I should just get one of those OBD2 to USB adapters for my laptop or spend like $400 on an actual scanner. I'm not a professional mechanic but I also want a reliable obd scanner that can give me as much information as possible.

Is the laptop setup good enough or is the scanner way better? What would you guys pick?
