I’m attending solo this year and initially I was meant to be going with a friend of mine who has unfortunately since passed away. As you can imagine, lots of feelings, but the main one is that I wanna still attend and get the absolute most of out of it for both of our sakes.

Now, this was my friends scene, not mine. So I’m totally uninitiated and would’ve been relying on him to suggest the best people do see/things to do.

I’m familiar with some of the obvious talent (vengaboys, kneecap, madness, Ren, Mungos hi fi, l’entourloop, skindred, etc) but besides from that, I haven’t a clue.

I do like all genres of music but I haven’t no idea what the must see sets are this year and I’d love to know who you think might blow my mind.

I’m open to any and all genres and really appreciate any suggestions. Thanks !

I’m heading to Boomtown this year for my first ever festival experience.

In general I’m confident but relatively introverted. By that, I mean I’m not that used to large groups and sometimes struggle to find my place in groups and do much better one-to-one. I think I worry too much what others are thinking/seeing and about judgement so I may hold myself back a bit and offer up a diluted version of myself in public.

That being said - I love music, love a laugh, love people and love altered states, so I really want to approach boomtown without those inhibitions holding me back.

I think my main concern in arriving alone (yes - first ever festival is Boomtown solo….), setting up alone and because I don’t know anything about festivals and don’t have a group to tag along with and learn from, that I might miss out on stuff.

I’d love some advice, any advice really. Particularly around how introverts have survived and thrived at boomtown and any tips on how I can approach it as openly as possible for maximum fun.

I’m not a clingy person and chose to attend alone rather than with my partner and friends so that I can be independent and enjoy it on my own terms but if anyone fancies a festival virgin to tag along so you can open their eyes to the madness of boomtown, please do reach out, even if it was just to go see one cool thing and then I go off on my bill and leave you to it. I’m a girl, if that makes a difference, but I’m chill to hang with whoever.
