2016 Jeep Renegade – Passive Entry stopped working after battery issue

I have a 2016 Jeep Renegade. I recently had an issue with the car battery because one of the battery terminal screws wasn’t properly tightened. I fixed it and the battery is now connected properly.

However, since then, the Passive Entry/Passive Unlock feature has stopped working.

Before the battery issue, I could approach the car with the key fob in my pocket and unlock the door using the door handle without pressing any buttons on the fob. Now, the car doesn’t detect the key fob when I approach it, so I have to press the unlock button on the fob every time.

The key fob buttons themselves still work normally.
Could the battery being disconnected/losing power have caused the Passive Entry system to stop working or need to be reset/reprogrammed?

Has anyone experienced this on a 2016 Renegade? Any ideas on how to fix it?

2016 Jeep Renegade – TPMS stopped showing data. Do I need new sensors?

I have a 2016 Jeep Renegade, and recently the TPMS stopped showing any data.

Before this happened, the system was working mostly fine, except for one wheel that was showing incorrect pressure data. Now, it doesn’t seem to be receiving data from any of the sensors.

My question is: Do I need to replace the TPMS sensors, or can they be reprogrammed/reconnected using a TPMS programming tool?

Has anyone experienced something similar with a Renegade? Any advice would be appreciated!

Hey everyone, just finished installing a new aftermarket CarPlay head unit on my 2016 Jeep Renegade and overall it's working great, but I noticed I lost a feature I really liked from the stock radio.

The original unit had this 2D sound field control — basically a dot/ball you could drag around a plane to distribute the audio between the four speakers (front/back and left/right simultaneously). The new radio also shows this option in the menu, but moving the ball doesn't seem to do anything — the sound doesn't change at all.

I've been told this might be a CANBUS communication issue — that the stock Fiat/Chrysler radio controlled the speakers through a proprietary protocol, and the aftermarket unit can't replicate that, so the feature shows up but is essentially dead.

My questions:

- Is this a known issue with aftermarket radios on the 2016 Renegade?

- Is there a CANBUS adapter that could fix this?

- Or is this feature just gone for good with an aftermarket unit?

The standard EQ (bass/mid/treble) works fine, it's just the spatial 2D control that seems broken. Any advice appreciated!
