People don't understand what ISA or UCA are, and therefore don't understand how they're structured hierarchically. Let me try to explain.

When the dust from the explosions cleared, it became obvious that humanity needed to find a way to survive, as well as ensure the extraction of raw materials to continue the development of society. With the devastation of all natural resources, the survival of the entire human race was at stake. Colonization of other planets was regarded as inevitable. It was decided to colonize other planets and moons that could support life. The richest corporations and governments on Earth formed a coalition and called it the United Colonial Nations (UCN). The organization has started planning for the future." It was the war unleashed by the armies of Earth that stimulated the creation of a unified government and the beginning of space exploration. So, the story of the soldiers of the UCN begins with the fact that the latter needed its own armed forces to ensure order in the colonies. The UCN has recruited a planetary defense force consisting of volunteers from all colonies. Despite the fact that many colonies maintained their own armed forces, it was believed that the best equipment and training of soldiers was provided by the forces of the UCN employees. The only thing that the UCN forces did not have was a large number of military detachments, as these defense forces were originally conceived as a temporary measure.

The UCA (United Colonial Army) came to realize that the means of communication available at that time did not allow effective control of the colonial defense system from the Ground. In order to cope with such inefficiency, the United Colonial Nations (OCN) are creating an "Interplanetary Strategic Alliance" (ISA). It can be said that an all-galactic army was created under the banners of the Earth. The ISA's responsibilities included customs duties, policing, and local planetary defense. The ISA commanders in the field were directly subordinate to the guys from the UCN, and did not fall under the command of the UCA. ISA commanders reported directly to the guys from the UCN security council and did not report to UCA. All local ISA branches were completely independent of each other, and their combat capability and budget were determined solely by local government funds.

The armed forces of the Interplanetary Strategic Alliance are a collection of state military organizations of the galaxy under the banners of the United Colonial Nations. In other words, it is a whole series of types of planetary armed forces designed to protect the freedom, independence and territorial integrity of individual colonies as states, as well as to protect their interests outside the alliance. * The rector grinned *. Naturally, if they completely coincide with the terrestrial ones. That is why any army of any colony that is part of the Alliance is periodically referred to as the "Army of Earth."
What do we know about the structure of these Earthling structures? Let's now draw a hierarchical diagram of the branches of the armed forces and their interactions. I'll discuss the organizational structure in another post. First, the general features.

We saw his representative only once - a certain general relayed an order from the Vekta government to Captain Nervill that the troops surrender to the Helgasts and informed him that they would be exchanged for Helghan prisoners in the future. We could observe the very work of the command in the manifestation of repeated successes and coordinated actions of the fleet and the army of the Earth. They also train and provide advisory guidance to military personnel from the ISA on the subject of their service.
If we talk about the UCN Military Fleet, then it should be said that it consists of several of the strongest strike groups of large battle cruisers in the entire galaxy, to which transport, assault and bomber squadrons of small aircraft are assigned. The fleet's responsibilities include transporting the submarine and its equipment, as well as providing air support on the battlefield. They are subordinate to the UKA High Command and the UCN Security Council.
The United Colonial Army is a collection of military amphibious units of various branches of the armed forces. The structure within the army is unknown to us, I can only say that they are subordinate to the Supreme Command of the UCA and the Security Council of the UCN.
Now let's move on to the ISA and its Hierarchical Line of the Interplanetary Strategic Alliance. We'll have to touch the colonial system a bit. See the diagrams below to illustrate everything I'm describing here.
The administrations of all ISA colonies provide funding for local armies belonging to the Alliance and their basic training, as well as provide a recruitment base of people fit for service. Each colony creates a "Ministry of Defense" for the purpose of self-management of its armed ISA cell.
The Ministry of Defense, a government structure in the colonies, is the executive branch of the Colonial Administration Department, whose tasks include coordinating and overseeing all the organs and functions of the relevant government directly related to the national security of the planets of the United Colonial Nations, as well as determining the composition of the ISA Supreme Military Command. The ministry is headed by a minister of the same name (a position derived from the type of activity).
The ISA Supreme Military Command is an extraordinary body of the supreme military administration that carried out strategic leadership of the armed forces of a colony during the war years. Despite its name, each planet has its own name and consists of local generals.
The Navy / military space forces / Air Force merged the "FLEET" into one branch of the armed forces — the space fleet, sea and river flotillas, as well as small aircraft. The Alliance flotillas or the ISA fleet are responsible for protecting the Earth colonies and suppressing any uprisings through space attacks and transporting planetary landing forces. The ISA fleet is intentionally weaker than the UCA fleet in order to prevent the colonies from rebelling against the United Colonial Nations. It is the largest unit of the Interplanetary Strategic Alliance, which includes not only large warships, but also, as mentioned just now, all types of small aircraft, among which the Vectans (as the main example) had fighter-assault aircraft, transport and bomber.
The Marine Corps, the Expeditionary Force, and the amphibious forces of the Interplanetary Strategic Alliance are the ground components of the ISA Fleet. The ISA fleet transports these soldiers to and from theaters of war, as well as supports them when they are on the ground. A war cannot be won by bombing alone, and these guys should reinforce this axiom in the minds of the audience. Those assigned to the fleet have their own armored units, air defense forces, and all the power of all types of aircraft.
ISA regular planetary troops, consisting of regiments. ISA regular troops make up 75% of the ground forces of any ISA colonies mobilized in the event of an invasion threat, and they also form the backbone of the ISA's "Rapid Reaction Force." In other words, if your planet is in danger, you can be safely mobilized, but if you want to be in the shoes of an invader, then you should join the Marine Corps. The regular troops are trained to an impressive level when it comes to defensive operations, but they are severely lacking in offensive capabilities. In addition to regiments, divisions are sometimes referred to as one of the units of the standard size of regular troops. Like, one division per colony, or several units. The ISA Rapid Reaction Force (RRF ISA), which will later become the "Legionnaires", are units on all planets under the control of the ISA, whose skills and effectiveness vary depending on how much the local government is willing to pay the UCA for their training. The RRF is responsible for riot control during peacetime and acts as a special forces unit in the ISA army during wartime. RRF members are recruited for their natural leadership abilities, as well as personal traits and characteristics that help them become exemplary field commanders when the chain of command is disrupted. As elite soldiers, the RRF is expected to hold the first line of defense on the front line, while other ISA soldiers organize more substantial defenses. They own orbital defense stations and transport aircraft. However, according to their own mentors from UCA, they were just ordinary colonial police. In the course of aggressive operations, RFF veterans are united into separate divisions and sent to other worlds to fight as part of the Marine Corps, often awarding them officer ranks.
The Security Agency (VSA in Vecta) is an intelligence agency that exists on every colony. He is engaged in assassinations, sabotage and sending spies who are tasked with collecting military intelligence and other information in the interests of the colonial government. Why am I singling them out in this diabolical scheme in which the devil himself will break a leg? Yes, because these agencies are also small armies with equipment, weapons and self-organization. They are directly subordinate to their government, although sometimes field agents carry out orders from officers of other military branches, if this does not contradict their main activities. The Marshal Shadow project is part of the security agency, just like the field intelligence operatives.
The logistics services of the armed forces are provided from the budget of the Ministry of Defense — supplies for supplies are purchased from industrial private organizations, and military units and troops stationed in them, along with engineering troops (who maintain and build all this), are stored and delivered to the rest.
I do not bring troops that are not part of the types and branches of the armed forces to the scheme, because the only thing we know about such individuals is that individual individuals in civilian clothes took up arms and helped soldiers in the KZA during the defense of the capital of Vekta.

We then reprinted the game's combat map based on it, with clarifications on the fleet's deployment and known losses in the archipelago area (the original and reprint are attached), and also analyzed the disposition of the First Army and Guards Fleet units at the start of Operation Archangel. The city's defense was supported by a Guards Fleet group of 13 cruisers (shown separately on the map below). I can vouch for the exact positions of only eight ships around the archipelago at the start of the campaign, and I've indicated the remaining five in positions where we'll see them later in the campaign.
When I was writing a lore article about Pyrrhus' air defense system, I felt a pressing need and desire to get a more or less detailed map of Pyrrhus and the battles within it. Thanks to the videos and maps featured in the game, a map of the city itself was recreated (first image).

Iven and Petrom
Someone asked under my last post who IVP even is. I can't resist sharing my answer and their supposed logo of the Helghast weapons workshop "Iven and Petrom." The image was restored from a pistol grip in the game. It's remarkably similar to the early Stahl Arms logo.
Here's the answer: Iven and Petrom was a small gunsmith that was later acquired by Stahl, and its founders became the outstanding pistol designers of Stahl Arms. This company created the famous IVP series of pistols and manufactured them at Stahl factories.
