Anyone heard of the OPTIM fibre?

So I have been reading about the amazing different ways wool can be processed, everything from classic knit and wave to boiled wool etc.

I came across this article which is about this optim fibre using merino wool which is developed by WoolMark (yes, that same one) and Nanshan.

This isn’t the first time I have heard of using natural fibre as a shell. We have cotton wax outer layers for example, but what Goretex shell jackets do is provide the protection with something that’s very lightweight which no natural fibre has been able to do.

I heard about a merino wool snow jacket made by Devold called the Trollkyrkja

I’m quite excited for the possibilities of this
