Game Show themed Birthday Party!!

Hi everyone! I hope you’re all doing well.

As the title suggests, I am hosting a custom gameshow night for my upcoming birthday party and I am absolutely thrilled! I’ve found an amazing hosting platform and put together a lineup of 5 games to keep the energy high all evening. I’d love to walk you through my current plan and get your feedback on how to make it the best possible experience for my guests.

The Setup:

  • Players: 24 friends divided into 4 teams of 6.
  • Runtime: Around 4 to 5 hours (including player intros, entrances, and a food break).
  • The Games: Two individual trivia games (where solo scores feed into the overall team total), Family Feud, Chain Reaction, and Jeopardy.

The Game Lineup:

  1. Icebreaker (Wrong Answers Only): A quick, low-stakes trivia game to kick off the night with some laughs. Players submit the funniest wrong answers and everyone votes on the best one.
  2. Family Feud: Since this is a 2-team game, I’m planning a tournament format (2 semi-finals and a grand final). To keep it moving, each match will have 3 survey rounds (Normal, Double, and Triple points) followed by a Fast Money speed round. The finals will take place later in the night.
  3. Speed Up Trivia (Individual): A classic trivia game where players get 30 seconds per question. It features 6 rounds of 5 questions, with individual scores adding to the team’s grand total.
  4. Chain Reaction: Similar tournament format to Family Feud, but shorter. It will feature 2 normal rounds (the second being a wager round) and a 15-second lightning round (though I might cut the lightning round for time). The finals will also happen later in the evening.
  5. Superpower Trivia (Individual): A unique trivia twist where players choose a "superpower" before each question to boost their chances of scoring higher points.
  6. Jeopardy (The Finale): A grand finale where all 4 teams play simultaneously. I’m thinking of doing 4 rounds (5 categories x 5 questions each), keeping the difficulty light so it moves fast. Teams will nominate 2 players to represent them each round, down to just 1 player for the final round.

I know this is a lot of info, but I would love to hear your thoughts on the pacing, formatting, or any ideas to make it even better! Thanks in advance!
