March for piano - looking for honest feedback

PDF score
Score video

Hello,
I'm a beginner learning composition. This piece - march for piano - is the first I'm genuinely satisfied with. The form is a standard ABA, with quite a few abrupt modulations (but I quite like them). The most important thing about it for me is that it has a proper intro, a proper ending, there's some modulation that hopefully makes sense, and I hope that the two themes are developed in a sensible manner.

If anyone feels like it - please tell me what you think. Does it flow naturally?

Any feedback about form, voice leading, harmony, engraving etc. is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for all contributions.

Cosy prelude for piano - asking for feedback

Hello, this is a relatively simple but quite melodic prelude for piano. I'm learning composition in my free time so there's nothing spectacular in there.
It'd be great to receive critique on form, voice leading and harmony. Let me know what you think!

Thank you for all contributions.

Small classical piano piece

Hello, let me know what you think about this piece. I'm interested in feedback about form, especially whether it's not too patchwork'y. Of course feedback about any other aspect - notation, voice leading, musicality - is greatly appreciated. Btw, for some reason the middle part in F minor sounds distinctly "russian" - am I the only one?

Thank you.

Minature minuet for piano - feedback appreciated

Hello,

This is my miniature minuet which has been created specifically as a composition practice piece. After indulging myself with pieces of gargantuan proportions (as all beginners do) I've decided to focus on something small.

I've also focused a lot on harmony since in my previous tries I did some strange things (like using a lot of tonic chords in the second inversions), so this piece should more or less follow CPP idiosyncracies with no harmonic "fireworks". Any feedack is greatly appreciated especially concerning voice leading, harmony, musicality and form.
Thank you for all contributions.

Barcarolle for piano

Hello, I'd like to ask for feedback on my miniature piano Barcarolle. I'm mostly interested in feedback on overall musicality, quality etc. What interests me is also your reception of the form - it does seem a little complicated but I hope it will be evident that there's a lot of shared material.

Any other feedback greatly appreciated (hairpin over two systems on the first page is a blooper).

Thank you for all contributions.

Is this short excerpt playable for a good but not virtuoso pianist?

https://preview.redd.it/pv4j5ayzlgch1.png?width=1482&format=png&auto=webp&s=efa7807ab44ddef74fea4f75c4c6ae169d298e3d

Hello,
Recently I've been dabbling with composition and this is an excerpt from my miniature. I'm wondering if this is even playable at the tempo for a good but not virtuoso pianist? I'm learning how to play the piano but I'm still a beginner, so for me the jumps are OK but the hand position after the jump (while playing sixteen note figure) is very, very awkward.

Thank you for all answers.

Allegretto in F# minor for piano - feedback welcome

Hello,
This is a piano piece in which I've tried to focus on just nice melodies. I will be frank and admit that I am beyond satisfied with how it turned out. Hence, I'd be grateful for any feedback about it's ''musicality'' and whether I've achieved my goal (I encourage you to listen to the audio in the score video since it's far from robotic even if not perfect). As always any other feedack regarding harmony, voice leading, engraving is warmly welcomed.

I also have two more specific questions if anyone would be willing to answer me:

  • Playablity of section starting at measure 30. The way I've envisioned it is the bass and soprano parts are played by the right hand whilst the middle harmony is played by the left. I'm learning how to play the piano but I'm very bad, so so far I'm sure that right hand is comfortable even with the switching but the LF seems quite awkward because the thumb sustains long notes whilst weak fingers have to play staccatto eight notes. Please let me know what you think, I do not want to write pieces which are hard for good pianists (even though obviously no one is going to play it)
  • Bass melody in Adagio (m. 69) - I do not have access to a real piano so I'm not sure if the bass melody will be clearly audible or if it should be raised by an octave. I have been inspired by Chopin's Cello Etude and it does go into that register a lot, but my melody just mostly stays there.

Thank you for all feedback and contributions.

Prelude for piano - feedback welcome

Hello,
This is a relatively small prelude in D minor where I've tried to focus on voice leading and constant figuration throughout. I'm aware of some weak points, for instance measure 55 -> 56 has a parallel octave in soprano and bass. I didn't fight it because the soprano is just part of the figuration, the melody is lower.

I've posted my first piece a couple of weeks ago and received wonderful feedback regarding engraving - hopefully it's better in this one, though I do not feel like it is perfect (score video has varying number of measures per stem due to Musescore peculiarities).

If you have any feedback regarding voice-leading, harmony, structure, engraving, or anything else I will be very happy to receive it.

Thank you.

My first composition - a piano waltz. Thoughts on the engraving, form, and overall coherence?

Hello,

I'm an amateur interested in all aspects of music, recently I've been trying my hand at composition. After scrapping a bunch of drafts I've tried to go for something simple and relatively short. My main goals are coherence and clear form (AB).

~3 minutes; score in PDF and Musescore linked below.

What I'd most like feedback on:

  • Engraving: I've been really careful to make it right - happy to hear what can be improved, especially the 6/8 section looks a little bit ugly
  • Overall coherence and form
  • Specifics - some posts on this sub receive wonderfully specific feedback like 'replace G with B in the LH in m. 4 to improve voice leading' - this kind of input is also greatly appreciated
