In the extract, the relationship between Macbeth and Macduff is presented not as rivals, but as a going transfer of power from a tyrannical, blasphemous leader, and the restoration of good between a seemingly implacable foe and his dramatic foe fuelled by hatred and revenge. At the beginning of the extract, Macduff speaks in short direct phrases such as “Turn hell hound! Turn!”, whereas Macbeth speaks in iambic pentameter indicating he believes he has the upper hand and power in this battle, which shows Macbeth doesn’t have any remorse for Macduff and only has care for one thing: his power. By using the powerful “hound” it shows that Macduff perceives Macbeth as a beast and animalistic in his quest for more power and the noun “hell” indicates that is full of hatred for Macbeth and his zero remorse for attempting to slay/murder this tyrannical king. Alternatively, at the end of the extract, Macduff’s speech moves to iambic pentameter indicating Macbeth’s power will soon be lost. In relation to this, it seems that for Macbeth’s relationship with Banquo has deteriorated as he says “Accursed be the tongue that tells me so” by using the adjective “accursed” it seems as that all Macbeth cares about is power and that is the reason that Macbeth and Macduff’s relationship has deteriorated.

In addition to this, in the extract the relationship between Macbeth and Macduff is presented as a contrast between selfishness and selflessness. At the end of the extract, Banquo’s motivation for killing Macbeth is so he can restore Malcolm as the rightful king, whereas Macbeth is presented as selfish and only so he can gain power for himself. This is shown when Macbeth states “I will not yield to kiss the ground before young Malcolm’s feet” the verb “yield” indicates that Macbeth views receiving power as its rightful owner and only cares about himself. Summarising, it presents Macduff as selfless as he wants to restore power to its rightful owner, refusing to yield it for himself, by using the adjective “young” it seems that Macduff even though he is more experienced and older, he’s willing to repeat this will over Macbeth.

I know essentially all of the content to a good enough level but I don’t know how to structure it and when to include certain topics into answering questions
