Measure J - 0.5pct increase in sales tax - let's talk

Voting 'no' seems like the right call for this election. It's an opportunity to force better governance for the city and school district. By voting 'no' can block the sale of Cubberly to the city, which was a pet project of the current school board president that signed off the the ridiculous union contract. Also, can let the city know they need to better serve residents before we give them more money for the general fund. Just my opinion. Would like to hear others.

PAUSD Running Out of Money / Big Layoffs

I caught up on the local news tonight and found out PAUSD is now looking at a big budget deficit because of financial mismanagement by the board.

I know people care about really important stuff like teen suicides, advanced math classes, gender issues and ethnic studies.

Shouldn't the focus this election be on fiscal management though? If we keep electing people who mismanage finances we will keep paying more in property taxes, rent etc. while the standard of living and education keep dropping. We don't have to be like the rest of america.
