Would you take VERA super early?

I see a lot of people who take VERA much closer to their MRA than I am. I have the option to take VERA with VSIP, off-boarding by the end of the year. I will be 47 years old with 25 years of service. Never planned to leave before 57.

I couldn’t stop working all together, just hopefully find a next career that isn’t constantly under attack. There are so many variables for each person’s situation, but curious to hear from anyone who may have left or is considering leaving under similar circumstances. I hate to leave the pay and the TSP. I know it’s hard to find a job. Public service is close to my heart. But dang it’s hard to do this every day and another 10 years…oof.

Edit: Thank you all so much for sharing your thoughts and experiences!
