Is Apna College DSA course worth it as a coding beginner?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently really focused on improving my coding skills and getting strong at DSA for placements. I’ve been studying consistently and I’m pretty serious about getting a good job in tech (aiming for SDE roles, etc.).

I came across Apna College’s course which costs around ₹7k, and I’m thinking about enrolling. I wanted to ask people here who might have experience with it:

  • Is it actually good for learning DSA from scratch or improving basics?
  • Does it help with consistency + practice problems?
  • Are there better alternatives at this price range (or even free ones)?
  • Is it worth it for placement prep, or is YouTube + LeetCode enough?

I don’t want to waste money if free resources can do the job just as well, but I also don’t want to miss out if structured guidance really helps.

Would really appreciate honest opinions 🙏

CU Unnao vs UPTAC Colleges for CSE?

Hey everyone, I’m really confused about college choices and would genuinely appreciate some honest advice from people who know about these colleges or are studying there.

I’m getting private colleges through UPTAC and currently considering options like GLA, PSIT, AKGEC, Lucknow University (engineering), etc. At the same time, I’m also considering Chandigarh University (Unnao/Uttar Pradesh campus).

I’m mainly interested in CSE/AI-ML related branches and I’ll most likely be staying in hostel, so campus life, crowd, opportunities, placements, coding culture, overall environment, and ROI (return on investment) matter to me. I don’t want to spend a huge amount and then feel like it wasn’t worth it.

My confusion is mainly this:

Should I go for Chandigarh University (Unnao/UP campus), or are UPTAC private colleges like AKGEC, GLA, PSIT, etc. actually a better choice in the long run?

I’ve heard mixed things:

  • Some people say CU has better campus life and exposure.
  • Some say UPTAC colleges (especially AKGEC/GLA) are better for placements and peer group.
  • I’ve also heard PSIT is very strict.
  • Not sure where Lucknow University stands for engineering.

I’m trying to think long-term (placements, growth, peer group, internships, opportunities, and ROI) but also don’t want to end up in a dead environment for 4 years 💀

Please give honest opinions especially if you’re currently studying in any of these colleges or recently graduated. Which one would you choose and why? Also, if anyone has insight into actual placement reality vs marketing, please share 😭

(And yes, I know “it depends on the student” 😭 but college environment and ROI matter too.)
