Organism - Why do we need 2 sets of long cards?

Each exposed victim card is mapped to a fixed organism (fast, strong, tough). What's the reason to still have a separate mutated organism card, instead of just having directly a single card?

It doesn't affect gameplay, however was curious, especially if I played any rules wrong.

Nothing Is Easy

Selena vs Poltergeist in Creech Manor.

Starting event, Helicopter! Selena's master plan, search through closet and attic for Carolyn and free heli ride away!

Turn 2, dark power revealed as Stiff Winds. Selena's movement slowed to a crawl.

Turn 4, minor dark power Unseen Forces revealed. Now Selena is panicking crawling around. Found only Mr Flappy in Closet, no Carolyn in sight.

Turn 5, slowly edging towards attic.

Turn 6, Unstoppable Evil. Rolled.....6!!! No guard card. Killed all remaining victims, including 2 ghost hunters. Bloodlust overshot several times. All terror cards discarded. Revealed finale - Nothing is easy.

Made it to attic. Searched through item deck. No Carolyn, only 1 rope ladder and lucky rabbit foot...last health, zero victims saved, heli ride waiting but no Carolyn, still crawling in stiff winds and panicked by Unseen Forces. Zero time left to buy any cards...waited to die.

Poltergeist dealt final blow, and Selena's health token reveals....3 health!!!

Made the slow come back.....Start with Distraction to slowly get horror back to green. Discard all cost 0 cards for time. Slow health recovery. Slow crawl down to garage. Each turn must always have 1 guard, 1 close call and roll at least 1 star. Poltergeist relentlessly teleported and slammed, with 1 star guard, at most 1 damage. Each turn focus only on 1 thing. Rinse and repeat. Rinse and repeat. Rinse and repeat.

Made it to garage, found Carolyn and padlock. No more Unseen Forces! Locked the door and raced out towards freedom, carrying Carolyn and Mr flapper.

Zero victims saved, heli still waiting, full health. Victory. 2 hrs grind.

Nothing Is Easy.

How does your first 2 turns look like?

I realise the first turn is quite bad. Instead of gambling, I discard Walk, Short rest and Weak attack to build up 9 time. Then I purchased Improvise, Distraction, Sprint and Close call for a big turn 2 to reduce horror.

How about you?

Epic fail (due to ego)

Forgot to take photo, apologies for the wall of text

Red vs Big bad wolf in Storybook Woods.

===Turn 10===

Killer has 4 health, damage3, move5, second top bloodlust. FG has full 5 health and revealed her ultimate ability. Horror level 1. FG is adjacent beside killer. FG has setup Thorny vines in her current location, equipped sling and has bow in backpack. All setup and ready for final showdown.

Last terror card is "Come closer, my pretty" - Move all victims and FG one space closer to killer and killer attack 3 times. FG moved to same spot as killer, no victims moved to killer spot.

Killer attacked FG 3 times.

First attack used guard, partial success, discarded 2 cost zero cards and negated all damage.

Second attack FG took full damage. Health down to 2.

Third attack FG took full damage. Health down to 0.

Turned over health token, super lucky, showed 1 heart! FG came back to alive with 1 health.

Killer's epic card is Trill of the hunt.

===Turn 11===

Feeling super lucky and confident. Decided to do critical blow with 4 dice (horror level 1 + last health).

All 4 dices rolled 1....!!!! Statistics chance = 1/1296 or 0.077%. No close call card on hand. Critical blow failure resulted in 2 health loss.

===Conclusion===

FG died (I imagine Red tried to pulled a heavy punch, tripped, and hit her head on a heavy rock). Big bad wolf enjoyed a free lunch.

On hindsight. I should have used FG ultimate ability to move 1 step back to previous location, used sling to deal 2 damage (4 health to 2) and equipped bow. Killer's turn moved to Red location, heal back 1 (2 health to 3), took 2 damage (3 health to 1) and stop all actions due to Thorny vine. FG will then move away, use all time to hit killer with 3 damage. Killer didn't have extra hearts token, so killer would have died. Guaranteed strategy, no dice rolling.

===2 things I learnt===

  1. Always prioritise guaranteed damage over dice rolls

  2. Always have a close call in the most critical action
