(Meta) I'd rather talk about teaching, not apps.

There's been an absolute flood of posts asking questions about the profession with the subtext of promoting apps and other digital projects. Even just a month ago, this wasn't nearly as bad. Can we please get rid of posts that are self-promoting? I'd rather discuss music teaching in a music education sub.

The water-to-food machine from Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs is corrupted by Nurgle. Can Flint and the other characters still beat it?

Maybe I just feel old, but I feel like explaining the movie a little for those who haven't seen it - Flint lives on an island in the Atlantic with a fishing economy that's gone south. To spice up everybody's diet and help all his neighbors, he invents a machine that can turn water into food. It becomes sentient, flies up into the sky, and attempts to drown the island in an endless storm of hotdogs, pizza, and other generic American fare. At first it just provides the Islanders with better food options, but then it turns evil and tries to destroy everybody with skyscraper-sized hotdogs and such. Flint falls in love with a reporter who visits the island, and together they destroy the machine and save Humanity.

This time, however, a demon of Nurgle inhabits the machine. Bear in mind this machine can essentially create any nonliving organic matter it wants, based on the film. Ultimately though, we now have demon-infested pestilence machine churning the atmosphere into moldy leftovers, acid rain, and virus bombs.

Several rounds:

  1. Can Flint and his friends still destroy the machine and save the day with just the resources available to them in the film (Flint's inventions and the town's resources)?

  2. The US military is called in and devotes all their energy to destroying this apocalyptic threat. Can they do it?

  3. An Inquisitor of the Ordo Malleus arrives in a spaceship with a bodyguard retinue of five Space Marines (let's say they're Black Templars), and he's handed the reigns to every military on Earth. Can they destroy the demon food processor, or do they have to Exterminatus the Earth?

  4. Back to basics - Who is the weakest comic book hero who could stop the demon engine in the sky? Marvel, DC, Image Line, anybody you want

BONUS: The town's mayor, who grows to massive proportions over the course of the film, is now a Demon Prince of Nurgle. Applying this to any of the above rounds, do he and the machine prevail?

Answer any of them you want I just thought this would be pretty interesting!
