Trash Pick up event this week on Wednesday, May 13th 5-6 pm

Hi folks! I am organizing one final trash pick up for the season this week on Wednesday, May 13th from 5-6pm. Join in if you can!

The area was chosen because the Coralville Engineering department needs to inspect the flood berm at this location, so we need the vegetation mowed down. Before we mow however, we would like as much trash as possible picked up so it doesn't get chopped up during mowing and end up in the river.

There is a lot of trash here! Please stop by and help pick up a bag if you are available!

Wednesday, May 13, 2026, 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm: Meet at the northwest corner of the Heartland Inn parking lot (87 2nd Street). Volunteers will clean up trash between Heartland Inn and the CRANDIC Railroad.

We will be pausing volunteer trash collection events for the season after this one due to the emergence of poison ivy and ticks, we will resume events next fall/winter.

Hello folks - Join me for two trash pick up events this week in Coralville.

Tuesday, April 28, 2026, 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm: Meet at the northeast corner of the Coral Ridge Mall parking lot, across from Best Buy (1431 Coral Ridge Avenue). Volunteers will clean up trash along the North Ridge Trail adjacent to the east side of Coral Ridge Mall.

Wednesday, April 29, 2026, 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm: Meet at the Wells Fargo Bank parking lot (327 2nd Street). Volunteers will clean up trash along a portion of Clear Creek.

This is a volunteer event. Dress for the weather and wear sturdy, closed-toed shoes and comfortable clothes. Gloves, trash bags, and trash grabbers will be available to use, and the City of Coralville will dispose of all waste that is collected. Volunteers younger than 18 must be accompanied by a supervising adult.

Hi folks - join me in picking up trash out of a natural area in Coralville this week on Friday, April 24th from noon to 1pm.

Meet at Woodspring Suites Hotel, 2680 James Street, park at the east end of the parking lot. I will have trash grabbers, gloves, and bags. Wear long pants and sturdy footwear, as the terrain is rough and possibly damp. It will be at least somewhat fun, I promise!
