Is it fine to have a mc be dragged around by the plot?

Im writing a fantasy adventure webnovel.

I've heard the advice multiple times that you should have your mc make the decisions that drive your plot to make the story engaging.

My mc isn't exactly prone to do that, there are a couple of the big turning points where she does makes choices that'll drive the plot forward, but for the most part she kinda drifts along with side characters or things just so happens to happen around her.

Is that fine? Or should i try to force her into more decisions?

Im a newbie writer and dialogue has become my nemesis of sorts, I've been stuck for over a month on the same chapter because it requires a long dialogue/multible dialogues.

Making every character sound consistent, not making the dialogue feel too robotic or like pure exposition.

Also adding the small details of their actions while theyre speaking and not sounding repetitive

Anyone have some tips on how to make dialogue easier?

Right now its taking me like 1h to write 200 words on a good day ;-;
