Rogue Planets arc thoughts(act 2)
You know what? SCREW IT! If I keep waiting to know when act 2 will end I may not be able to share my thoughts on this act before the arc as a whole ends. So I have decided to simply share my thoughts on everything we got from where we last left till what we got yesterday. For me all of this makes the second act of the arc. It makes sense since the stage for the ex-solar celestials to reunite with the Sun, Earth and Luna has been set. With that being said let's start this review. Just like my review on act 1 I will discuss each of the mini arcs one by one.
First up is the Planet Revolution
While the hype may not have been as big as the Moon Revolution, it was long overdue. Solarballs actually did a wonderful job with this one. They gave compelling motivations to the planets without unnecessarily making the Sun outright evil. The way the revolution was carried out was also much better than the Moon Revolution. That one was just "Hey let's kill billions!" This one was more thought out and sort of worked as a redemption for the ridiculous planning of the previous uprising since the planets sought help from the moons. It was also a great way to show how much the bond between planets and moons has grown. Last time the moons rebelled against the planets. This time they helped them rebel against the Sun. I also love how the planets all apologized to each other. It was great. The entry of the Rogues and the dwarfs was also great. The Planet Revolution Part 3 to me till now has the best solarballs cliffhanger. Also the entire solar system minus Ceres was finally united. And of course it's the Sun they united against. Their own LEADER! How! Ironic! I also love how they defeated the Sun. It was a great way to show that while he might be invincible on a solar level, he is not on a galactic level. And the apology scene between planets was wonderful. Also Uranus finally accepted Neptune as his cousin. What's not to love? Now for complaints I have to say that despite everything the Sun made the planets go through I think they got convinced to go with the Rogues too easily. Also I wish during that apology scene the moons would have also apologized for their actions during their uprising. It also disappoints me they didn't even acknowledge hiding about Proto and Theia from the Earth.
Mission to the Sun
This was..... Okay..... I guess. Look it has made me love Astrodude even more especially with his selflessness despite how much he keeps getting in trouble but this is a filler that is not actually a filler. At least to me. The Sun has a hallucination about Mercury and then that hallucination turns into himself. I was really disappointed at the time when the Sun straight up agreed to take Astrodude's help. Though this complaint became negligible as you will see later on. Also we have a pretty noticeable plot hole. How in the universe does Luna know about Proto and Theia? When he was born he told Venus that the name Theia doesn't mean anything to him. When he reminded Earth about them in Mission to Sun part 2, the Earth said "So you remember them". Which shows that he never told him about them. So how does he know at all? I know he has come from the leftover material of the collision but this came out of nowhere. Also is Astrodude stupid? Or did he go to a stupid space school/academy/university/WHATEVER!? Why am I saying this? Because Mr. Brave Astronaut decides to go all the way to the Sun even though it should be basic knowledge for any astronaut who has studied about space since his childhood that YOU DON'T GO CLOSE TO THE BALL OF PLASMA! Now is there any good? Yes. Two things. One, the Earth giving the Sun the ignore treatment. I LOVED IT! And two: ASTRODUDE AND THE SUN FINALLY INTERACT ON SCREEN! WOOOHOOOOO!
Our Planets Go Rogue
Okay this one was actually great. It was a great way for the ex-solar celestials to reach the Rogue Kingdom and join them. I also love how Jupiter is not being cut any slack by the original Rockies. Now a lot of people have an issue with Jupiter agreeing to join the Rogues so easily but I don't. It's a great way for him to get some character development on his past actions since he never got any in the Planet X arc. I will say that most planets agreeing to follow him without questions is a bit.... questionable. Since while he apologized and they know that he has kept the asteroid belt in check, we don't know if he has fully re-earned his leadership reputation. Yes he was a leader in the Planet Revolution but this was a life changing decision. I did like SIMP's speech and despite how things would turn out later on I still want to believe the Rogues are not evil. Even though many especially those who still defend the Sun think otherwise. Now them actually knowing what the Dwarfs are up to was both unexpected and pretty amusing. Now for X himself I don't know why he was so anxious about them joining. He joined voluntarily and so did they. So for him to worry like this is a bit weird. I did however like his interactions with Neptune and Uranus and how he is getting along so well with Jupiter and Saturn. Though I am not sure why did Jupiter say "Turns out Planet X was always one of the good one" ? Like buddy. What do you mean? Since when did you think he was a bad guy? Although I do like X standing up for Jupiter. Something he would have never done before. The biggest complaint is PSO. WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT WAS COOL THE MOONS ALMOST KILLED BILLIONS?! Your leader wants those billions to somehow not die outside the system so you guys can convince the galaxy that you don't need stars at all even for life. So why would you become a fan of the moons for attempted genocide? Even they don't like it anymore. Also how did no one notice the Earth didn't come with them. After what happened last time they should have known that despite everything the Sun did the Earth wouldn't just put his Earthlings at risk.
Solar Reckoning
This is what I mean when I said that my bother of the Sun agreeing so easily to fix everything went away later on. I love how he wants to fix everything but isn't out right ready to take accountability. But when Astrodude gets sick that's when things change. The Sun actually starts listening to the Earth without crashing out and for the first time starts to rethink everything he has done. This is also a great mirror section. The fact the Sun is becoming more rational while the Rogues are becoming more irrational is great. Because it is the perfect way to give someone redemption while creating antagonists in another place. And I think it's being handled better than when they tried it with Titan. Now my hatred for the Sun has still not went away since he still needs to redeem himself but the stage has been set for that. I am not really worried about Astrodude though since his movie is around the corner. So I don't know why they are choosing now to put his life in danger. Also I love how Jupiter's desperation for redemption continues to push him to listen to Simp even with her irrational demand. But the other planets this time do question it instead of blindly following Jupiter's lead. X and Proteus reconciling was great. And it reverting with X not saving the Dwarfs was also great because now he would truly have to redeem himself in the eyes of his best friend. Wise was also really cold here. I do like the contrasts between the official and candidate Dwarfs though. The official ones are not prone to conflicts much so they wanted to see the good in Wise but the candidates have always guarded the boundaries of the solar system and hence are more wary of the Rogues. So it makes sense why they didn't even try to appeal to Wise. Also the ending of the mini arc was crazy man. I am really worried about both Ogle and X.
Overall the second act of Rogue Planets arc was also really good. However it did have some questionable scenes. But it also has some wonderful scenes and character interactions. I was initially going to give it a lower score than the previous act but as I wrote this review my mind changed. Rogue Planets arc act 2(Planet Revolution Part 1 to Solar Reckoning part 3) gets an 8/10. Making it as good as the first act.
Redemption Arc
Why do you think the Earth's Redemption arc worked so wonderfully in the eyes of most while it didn't for Titan? I know my reasons and I will share them in another post but I want to know what you guys think.
Is the second act over?
Do you guys think the second act of the Rogue Planets arc is over if we count from the planet revolution? For me the first act began with the moons replacing planets arc and ending with the rogue army arc. And the second act did begin with the planet revolution but I am not sure if it is over yet. I thought last week that solar reckoning part 3 might be the end for it but I am not sure after watching part 3. I have shared my thoughts on the previous 3 major arcs one by one as a whole and for this one I decided to give my thoughts on each of the three acts one by one before giving my overall thoughts once the arc is over. And I did make a review post on the first act. But now I don't know if the second act has ended yet or when it will even end. So please tell me is it over or not?
WHAT IN THE UNIVERSE WAS THAT ENDING?!
Seriously! What was that? I mean the Dwarf Planets getting left in the emptiness of space and the Planets deciding to accept SIMP's stupid idea were all set up last time. But the ending was totally uncalled for. X literally sent OGLE to fall for a trap and I am not even sure if I should love or hate him for that because OGLE is easily the most popular of the 5 main Rogue Planets. But then that cliffhanger.... Ohhhh....boyyyyyy...... Is X in trouble? What if he isn't? What is even going to happen after this? Man..... THIS. WAS. CRAZY!
