ALDS GAME 4 - October 10, 2012
Whenever I miss my Oakland A’s, I either put on this game or game 162 of the season. I know the outcome of the game yet I still get goosebumps when it gets to the 9th inning. Down two runs but this team had so many comebacks that season that you always had hope. Josh Reddick starts off the bottom of the 9th and hits a single to get on base. Next up is Josh Donaldson. First pitch he sees he almost sends it out the park but it hits the wall and gets a double but now we have a man on second and third. Seth Smith up to hit. The organ player starts playing that tune and the crows erupts into a “Lets Go Oakland” chant that you can feel through the screen. Mid chant, Seth Smith lines it towards right center field for a bases clearing double. Tied ball game. Crowd goes wild. Kottaras fouls out and Pennington K’s but here comes Coco Crisp. First pitch, lines it through the infield to right field. Avisail Garcia bobbles it “and the Oakland A’s will live another day, game 5 is tomorrow!”. Being at that game in person will always be one of my most cherished memories. That 2012 team affirmed my love for baseball and for the Oakland A’s. I can’t help but get emotional and shed a tear every time I watch this game. I hate that they took this away from us. FJF.
