Mykines ferry
Hi everyone,
I’m planning a trip to Mykines, but I’m quite worried about unpredictable weather causing ferry cancellations and getting stranded on the island.
Because of this, I’m considering buying tickets to take the ferry to Mykines (e.g., departing Sørvágur at 13:30) and immediately taking the same boat back (at 14:15) without disembarking to explore the island.
A couple of questions:
Is this allowed/logistically feasible just to stay on the boat and return straight away?
Will I be able to see any puffins from the boat during the transit, or is hiking on the island the only way to spot them?
If the weather is risky enough that I'm worried about getting trapped, would the ferry even run in the first place?
Thanks in advance for your advice!
