People who sit at a desk all day: how do you maintain mobility?

I am in my first week of a new desk job and I’m already feeling tightness in my back and hips. I go to the gym to lift weights 3-4 times per week, but I’ve never done much for mobility, so I’m trying to start that habit asap. What exercises should I do in a 10-15 minute timeframe to stretch and strengthen my hips, back, and shoulders?

I just moved into an old building with only one outlet in my room on the opposite side from my bed. I own a surge protector and would like to keep it near my bed with the following plugged in: a small desk lamp, 1-2 iPhones, and a MacBook charger. My question is would it be safe to buy a new extension cord, plug that into my wall, then plug the surge protector into the extension cord? If not, what solution would work best?
