Need help resurrecting a Pocketbook 360 Plus (511) – Looking for an internal SD card dump!
Hi everyone. Dear Reddit, you are pretty much my last hope.Calling all Pocketbook 360 Plus (511) owners!
My faithful old companion decided to pass away after many years of loyal service. Even though I now have a Pocketbook 628, I really want to bring this old friend back to life and pass it down to my niece.
Comprehensive troubleshooting points to a bad sector on the internal SD card (yes, this is one of those e-readers where the OS and internal memory live on a regular 2GB SD card). It seems the bad sector is located right in the boot sector because even writing its dump to a new card doesn't let the e-reader start up. (I know about the CID matching process for the new card, but unfortunately, the corrupted data in the dump won't even let the device get to the card ID verification stage :().
Sorry for the long intro!
Here is my request: if there are any owners of a working Pocketbook 360 Plus (511) out there, could you please disassemble your device, take a dump of the internal SD card using free software like Win32 Disk Imager or HDD Raw Copy Tool, and upload it to any file-sharing service? If you use HDD Raw Copy Tool, the compressed image will only take up about 1GB.
I really hope someone can help, and I want to thank everyone in advance for taking the time to read this!
